Ugh. I sure wish I had read a few reviews before I took my kids to see this. I've never felt the desire to write a review before, but I have to speak out. The ads are misleading. A wonderful childhood fantasy of escape and adventure was turned into a dark, sad, complicated story of dysfunctional relationships. It was a very interesting story on it's own, but I'm sorry "Where The Wild Things Are" was used as an excuse to tell it. I regret spending valuable family time (and money) on this movie. Even a little angry. It left my kids in tears. Nice, huh? Live and learn. I will NEVER take my kids to another movie w/o reading reviews first.
