The political thriller, set in New Delhi was believed to be based on the controversial Jessica Lal murder case. However, later the film's director clarified that the title and the script are actually inspired by a headline that "The Times Of India" carried in 2006 -- when the accused in the infamous murder case was acquitted by the lower courts -- and not the case per se.
