Great town house. If you want a big time house go to the biggies, don't forget to add the gas and tolls to the big time price. Great staff. If you touch the place up you will loose the charm. The place is clean how can you ask for more? -
6/24/12 My family & I just came from watching Disney's Brave; and we loved it! Great picture quality; movie was 3D, friendly staff, hometown atmosphere not crowded, great prices and a plus: my feet weren't sticking to the floor. Great job guys! We'll be coming back to see Madagascar 3! :) -
New Paltz Cinemas, I agree, has the worst quality projection I have ever experienced.
Out of the four or so screens they have, only one has surround sound.
If you want a proper movie going experience, do not go here. The place is a joke. Any relatively recent home television would do better.
They also offer no refunds, most likely because people ask for them all the time. -
Let me just say that I'm a proud member of the Lyceum Cinemas Super Value Book club... and, all I've got to say is that this place is awsome. True, it's slow, but you can blame that on Netflix, not on the cinema itself.
I do have one bit of beef, though... the price of soda went up... I'm going to have to start brining in my IV. But, really, it's a nice place with good movies. -
We love New Platz Cinemas. With the low cost of tickets it allows our family to enjoy the movies with a treat from the snack bar. We had to leave due to sickness and we were given a pass for next time. I love this place I hope it's here for a long time.

I have to agree with Kevin. It is not the best movie house I have ever been to but it surely is not the worst either. I like the cheap price and the location suits me just fine. The rooms are a little small but that is ok with me. What do you expect for the price? I never go to any other movie house because I would rather spend that $40 or $50 on something else. This is a good deal for the price. -
I\'m writing this because, first, I am tired of seeing one review, a one-star review, with little relevance to my experience. Its not the greatest theatre on earth, and its owner seems to shy away from progressive films, but i go for the cheaper show times and its fine. the rooms are small, but the sound is ok, not horrible or life-warping situation, like, say, watching Fox News is... -
the worst projection i have ever seen in my entire life. if you prefer watching films that are in focus and properly aligned on the screen, i suggest you go elsewhere.
