We went here last night with our two children to watch Monsters University, and left without seeing the movie, this is the most NASTY, DIRTY, GROSS place you could bring your kids, we will NEVER go here again, nor anyone that we are friends with. PAY THE EXTRA AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! I can not believe this place even attracts people at all, it should be shut down or they should get a manager that knows how to run it. I would give it zero stars for quality and customer service if it were an option!!
Yes you get what you pay for, but if you are on a budget or really enjoy going to the movies often, then this is the place for you.
I have gone on different occasions and what strikes me is the friendly staff. The concession stand is clean as are the bathrooms.
Sure, the theaters are a bit rundown, but I go there
to have the experience of watching a movie up on the 'silver' screen.
It still is not the same when I watch them on the large HD flatscreens.
My advice: Go enjoy the fun of watching the movies
as they are meant to be seen.
Went to the theater a few days ago. I have to admit, the ticket prices is exceptional and I am always greeted by friendly staff. That is why I give this cinema two stars instead of one. I watched Men In Black III. I was told to go into theater four. I went to sit down, but it was very dark. I came out and asked if the lights could be turned up, and went back in. They turned on the emergency fluorescent lights on the ceiling. I looked around and probably half of the cinema seats were broken and didn t fold up any more. There was stains on the screen, and on the black curtain below it. Looking around in the brightly lit theater, I noticed most of the drapes on the back wall had fallen off, exposing drywall. There was also a spot where a hole had been punched into the wall, and there was a piece of cardboard painted black and taped to the wall covering up the hole. When the movie started the lights abruptly shut off (no fancy dimming action like at the other theaters), and it was pitch black again. The picture was okay, but the sound was terrible. It was like listening to an old vinyl record. I think only a couple of the speakers worked in the cinema. I understand you get what you pay for, but if you are buying snacks, it is cheaper to go to Spotlight Cinemas in Orono. Their tickets are more, but their concession is much cheaper. Just my experience. Hope yours is better!
I love this place; cheap tickets, a reasonable selection of food (other than expensive popcorn and candy) and close to the highway. Yes, it is dirty, but it is no worse than public transportation. Also, the Mall Cinema makes you sit through 20 mins of age-questionable advertisements if you want to go early to sit and talk. You won't get that here.
Not the best but not the worst. Pretty much you get what you pay for. Still me and my boyfriend tend to go here more often than to Bangor Mall Cinemas due to the cheapness and closeness. All we have to do is get on the highway or take union street to get there from Brewer. It's good when you have a tight budget.
okay so it's not the cleanest place in the world... but what do you expect for what you're paying... $1 Tuesday and $3 every other day. I have been going there for the last 4 years with my fiance with out catching anything lol The worst thing that has happened to us there was my fiance sitting on a bag of pop corn that someone was to lazy to put in the trash can which was located about 3 feet away from the seat it was left in and you would have to walk past it to exit the theater. It should be cleaned at the very least every other showing. Other than the cleanliness of the place and the uncomfortable seats and sticky floors, I have enjoyed the alternative of watching a cheap movie on a rainy day. By the way Bangor Mall Cinemas 10 also has some sound issues and on more then one occasion could have stood a cleaning between showings.
It's pretty ghetto, but cheaper than first run and only like a buck on Tuesdays, which is cheaper than renting. It's pretty haggard and worn, and they don't keep it very clean, and the last film I saw there, Jackass, had volume and audio quality problems. I guess you just have to decide if it's worth catching hepatitis to not spend 20 bucks at the other theater. I think so. :D
i went see district 9 and the theater we were in was so gross there was something all over the wall there was gum all over the seats and floors there was popcorn everywhere it should be shut down it was so unsanitary the seats were stained and the bathrooms were so gross you'll probably catch something.
