User reviews on GTC Beechwood 11 Cinemas
Love this theater and all the employees .. they r always super nice. Carmike went all hood rat so gtc rules
I go there for their convenient location, lack of a crowd, and good price--but definitely not their customer service. It's filled with a bunch of philosophy majors with their heads in the clouds trying to earn food money, and bitter 30 somethings--angry at the nagging feeling of being unaccomplished.
Dear guy complaining about Thor. You paid 25 dollars because it is 3D. Those tickets are always that expensive. The exit lights and aisle lighting are required by law. Maybe you should wear contacts or get your prescription changed if you think the movie was out of focus. Also, every think that maybe it was the movie that was dim, not the screen? And finally, my dad worked there when he was in college and the definitely enlarged the building to fit the screens. But good try. I like this theater much more than carmike and will always go to this one over that.
Ps, you spend way too much time complaining on here. That was like a freaking novel.
I have been seeing movies in this theater for years and have always had a great experience. The picture and sound quality make for good movie enjoyment. The seating is comfortable and the staff is always very nice. Some people are impossible to please, it's that type that gives this cinema bad reviews.
The last two times I have attended this theater the presentation has been horrible. Most recently we saw THOR 3D. The movie was projected much to dimly. You could not distinguish actions scenes at all, with the exception of the front-most activity. The image was also subtly out of focus, which I notice has become a trend in recent years at theaters in general, as is low volume. Some years back GTC renovated this theater and added additional screening rooms. The building remains the same size. This was accomplished by installing smaller screens, and weird offset seating in the smaller screening rooms. Soundproofing between the screening rooms is comically bad. The adjacent screening rooms' subwoofers (also showing THOR) might as well have been in the same room as us, and all dialogue suffered as a result of the rumbling bleed through. The volume was too low, however, for our screening room, which exacerbated this problem. They obviously recently replaced the seating in our room (#1) and while the seats were new, they gave the feeling of sliding out of them the whole time. My 9 year old even complained of their discomfort. Because the movie was projected so dimly and the fact that the new seating has built in guide lights for the stairwell that are ridiculously bright amber, most of my attention was being drawn peripherally to the amber light of the seats and the neon green exit signs, both of which were decidedly brighter than the movie screen itself. To set a good example for my son, I asked to see the manager after the movie where I conveyed my concerns and dissatisfaction. He treated me as though my concerns were not important and a shock to him, and told me he would tell the technicians whenever they came next. He made no effort to assuage me, make any immediate corrections (for the next viewers) nor did he make any attempt to apologize to us, much less offer any kind of recompense. Overall, I can't remember a more unpleasant trip to the movies, and I can't wait to see the movie on BluRay, in my well maintained, properly calibrated home theater, so I can actually enjoy the movie and see and hear all of the special effects that I'm sure were in there somewhere. The movie itself was fairly entertaining and I suspect I would have really enjoyed it on the "big screen" had I been given a proper chance. It was $25 for two tickets (for myself and my son) and another $10 for drinks at the concession. What a waste of $35. We cannot in good faith ever visit this theater again, If given the choice, I recommend their competition - Carmike 12 on Lexington Hwy.
I really enjoy visiting this theatre. The seating is comfortable and the lobby is always clean and well lit. The only con (not within the control of the theatre) is that the parking lot can be difficult to navigate: one-way aisles and high traffic during peak hours. But apart from that, it's always a great experience going to see a movie at Beechwood Cinemas.
it is the best movie theater i have ever none. i go there every time
