I agree that I love this place! It may need a little renovating here and there, but overall it's a great way to have a cheap and fun date or family night. I think the concessions are reasonably priced, compared to any other theater. When I go to AMC I spend about $40 for two people, whereas here, I spend a fraction of that price. I hope they will be able to keep the business open in the coming years!

OK WAAAA,, Now here is my opinion. Try the concession at the stadium or the Fieldhouse. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EAT THERE ! They have to make some money to keep door prices low .The Pop and the Popcorn is always good .Both GRNW.& WASH. are always safe and friendly The only little suggestion I have is I would like see more Seniors and disabled workers there. Enough of that ,,, I must say I highly recommend seeing The Hobbit & Lincoln on the big screen.. .

Ive loved this place since I was young! Great place to catch a film! My son loves it too. Pricey food as you would expect, but still a great deal!

I have never had a bad experience and have been going here for ~3 years now. To the guy the guy just with the 4 star review just below - I would buy you a beer if I could because you seem like the rare sort of person in the world with reasonable expectations and a level head...well said.
To people dissatisfied with the 8 - every business has a bad day - I really would give a second chance - otherwise head up the road to Showplace 16 and spend $20 on 2 3D tickets then pay for your candy and soda on top of it - I'll bet you head back to The 8.
By the way - this is a place to take your kids for the cheap - if you are trying to impress a date - don't be an idiot - pay the toll at a first run theater. Know what you are getting and I think Cinemark 8 satisfies. -
The seats aren't too small. Your ass is too wide. Refreshments are priced to keep the theater running. That's how they make their money and that's how it is in ALL theaters. Get over yourselves! It's not "where they get you". It's paying the overhead and the employees. Get your head out of your ass. Theaters like these have little money and there IS and end to the amount of free passes- no matter if this fire happened there or anywhere else. It's your own fault for being stuck outside. It's hardly as if people are banned from the lobby.
I myself have been going here for years and I always find everyone friendly and easy to get along with. The ushers are quick to send out any rough-rabble who tries to spoil the experience and the consessionists are a great and patient bunch of people who put up with a lot. If anything, it's the type of CUSTOMERS they get who spoil the place. Anyone off the streets knows how cheap the place is and it's convenient to kill and hour or two. These are the types of people who don't know how to conduct themselves as a proper human being... or flush a toilet.
Sorry for the harshness, but I really think the whole of the world is focussed only on themselves and never give any sort of thought about how they come off to others. So here are my words for the 8. They do what they can for the task they've been given. On a good day, they pull it off marvelously. On a bad day, you simply have to bite your tongue and enjoy it the best you can. Don't get your feathers in a knot or you'll just continue to spoil it more for others and yourself. And bullocks to the lot of you who give this place any lower than at least 3 stars! They're trying and only YOU can make it better or worse. -
seats are to small and whole place smelled like urine. tickets are cheap, refreshments over priced, usually a hassle every time i go. last time was a "fire" some where in the building and didn't even get a free pass or anything. when it came my time to get a "rain check" the guy said he ran out. Then was told to get off the sidewalks, standing in the pouring rain till someone told me something was going to happen, so marked it up as a usual exp with the place.

Staff are extremely rude. The price is great for the movies and the theater is moderately well-kept, but the staff ruin the entire experience.
-
I love this place! GREAT deals - for example on some days if you come with 3 people, each ticket is only 75cents a piece!
They get fairly-new movies for a great price, and while, yes, snacks are pricey, you can get unlimited free refills if you get a large popcorn.
Even movies in 3D are a great steal!
So worth it!! -
Great place for movies AND snacks compared to other theatres. Movie AND Large drink for $15 at other theatres OR Movie AND Large drink for $5 here? You do the math. :-)

Great deal for everyone! Friendly staff and clean facility. Although $4 may seem high for a large coke, a large coke at any other theatre will run you more like $6-$8 in Indianapolis and Plainfield. Movies 8 is a bargain for people of all ages. You get the Redbox prices, but the full movie theatre experience; great for date night, family night, or other outings.
