User reviews on AMC Southdale 16
With ticket prices so expensive now, it is sad that AMC theaters have decided to stop the senior discount. Most seniors cannot afford to spend so much and enjoyed the activity of going to a good movie, usually going when the theaters are most empty during daytime hours. Its a slap in the face of seniors
This theater is gross. We have been here several times, and had gotten used to and accepted that they don't seem to clean their theaters between showings, but this visit was the final straw. Our seat actually smelled like urine, to the extent that we had to leave the theater the second we had pinpointed the smell. We asked to speak with a manager, with the intention of getting a refund for our tickets and reporting the issue, so that no one else would have their evening ruined, and he informed us that it isn't his responsibility to clean up after our accidents. We will absolutely not return to this location, and I sincerely hope that this review convinces you to try one of the other 25 theaters in the Twin Cities area. That level of filth, and I'm referring to the management, should never be tolerated.
I have been going to AMC in Southdale mall for a couple years now and i have never had a complaint. I think ten dollars for a movie is pretty reasonable. If you go during the week its only $5 !! thats a good deal.
Plus there is a gas station like convenient store in the mall by Abercrombie. you can load up on snacks there and hit the movie.
Tickets on the weekend are for sure over priced, there isn't any cost difference for a matinee. Bringing a family to the movies shouldn't cost sixtly or seventy dollars, but it would if you came on the weekends. I suggest bringing your own treats from the gas station, food at any theater is a rip off these days. Or better yet, buy the movie, and order pizza, and you'll save money at home.
The volume is incredibly LOUD. Especially in the IMAX. If you are hard of hearing this theater is great for you! If it's not loud to you, your ears are damaged and going here will increase the damage to your ears. Bring earplugs when going to this theater!
Other than this, it's a comfortable theater. I go to this theater regularly and bring earplugs with me.
Tickets are extremely over priced...and the food is a whole other story. A bottle of water is almost 4 dollars and a small bag of candy is over four dollars. It\'s a waste of money...I recomend going to Eden Prarie or waiting until it goes to the Hopkins theatre. It\'s not worth the money.
