Movies 278 is the cheapest theater around that I know of (unless you\'re willing to drive over to The Picture Show in Roswell for $1.75). Apart from the minor disturbances from rowdy groups, I actually have more problems with parents bringing in their young children to PG-13 and R movies. (I\'m mostly talking about crying babies)
I think Movies 278-Hiram is a great theater. My friends and I go there at least twice a week and the line is never too long for food/drink or tickets.
Tho ugh, the prices ARE a bit too much. I think it be nice if they were lowered.
My experience with movies 278 is limited. The couple times that I have been there I would say it was a bit obnoxious at times. But then again, all movie theaters are. I guess there's not a whole lot in Hiram for kids to do, and I remember going to the theater as a teenager and being a bit annoying. Of course the difference is that it was a dollar movie theater, which means that people weren't paying 10 bucks to see the movies. I do think that turning a review board into a cock fighting arena is pretty lame though guys. No one really cares to read about you ruffling your feathers here so you don't have to try and prove how much of a "big man" you are. Just grow up and write a review gentlemen, that's what the board is for. Either way, I'm taking my children to see WALL-E here today so I hope it will be a good experience for them. And I'm only 28 by the way, for any kids that want to post some sort of "your just old" retaliation here.
movies 278 is awesome i go there alot... with that said i have to disagree with sean. you gata have a lil fun in ur life man not be serious 24/7. just chill n relax.. plus do you go to the movies alone?!! id go with friends.
David, Only nerds abbreviate words like you and your with u and ur, so lay off. Nobody thinks you're funny, and I would love to run into you during a movie while you were trying to ruin it for the rest of us. That would be fun for me! I mean, you can't even spell or use correct punctuation. And being able to do those things doesn't make you nerd, it just means you made it through elementary school. And if you want to give someone a hard time at a movie, just tell me when and where bro, and I'll make sure it's the last time you do it. As for you Sean, sounds like you're a good kid. Keep it up, and whatever you do, don't make the mistake of hanging around guys like David. He is a lazy, all-talk NERD!
i think sean is just a nerd with a chip on his shoulder who gets picked on by the jocks at school. movies 278 is just fine, there are no more obnoxious jerks there than the theater at the mall so if u do decide to go 30 minutes to see a movie rest assured that ill be there waiting to give u a wedgie and lick some gummie bears and throw them at ur giant nerd glasses while talking on my cell phone thru the whole movie you fuckin goonie
I agree with Kyle, the Movies 278 used to be so much better when the prices were lower. Unfortunately, the problem of rude high schoolers is making the theater quite unappealing, in my opinion. Though I am 17 myself, I would like to think I'm not one of the average teens who go there. I sit quietly during my movie, I say thank you to workers, and I'd like to think I'm not loud and obnoxious. The last four movies I've seen there were all ruined by loud mouthed (for lack of a better word) idiots who enjoyed such activities as throwing popcorn at other viewers, yelling at characters on screen (I mean, come on), and just being plain rude. Personally, I would rather drive 30 minutes to the mall to catch a movie for more money than drive 10 minutes to be harassed by drunken jocks.
Movies 278 has been a getaway for most of us who object to overpriced movie tickets in bigger cities, but recently the theater has been conforming to the image of its more "successful" siblings and upping their prices too. It makes you wonder where all that money goes. I mean, their high school student employees make about what a popcorn costs, but at the hourly rate. Not to mention how hard it is to land a seat that isn't near a bunch of rude giggling teenagers. And if their reason for the rising prices was to get rid of THAT problem, it isn't working, because there are just as many negligent parents wanting to get rid of their kids. So, Movies 278, dare to be different than your counterparts and let your consumer expect a consistent price so that they will become consistent consumers, it's in your best interest.
