My husband and I have been to Movies 278 in Hiram, GA, many times and we've never had a bad experience. We turn off our cell phones, but recognize that some people--service and health professionals who are on call--cannot. We also recognize that teens are teens and their agenda includes a lot more than watching a movie--like dating, being seen, checking out teens of the opposite sex, etc. Parking if free and plentiful. The theaters and bathrooms have always been fairly clean. And the prices are, well, what the prices are. Everybody has to make a living.
Great theater. Management is fantastic. Our 3 years old went for his first movie and got scared. Management exchanged the tickets for new showtimes so my older kids could still see the movie!!!
Recently saw a sony digital 3-D movie at Movies 278 theater. \\r\\nMy spouse got PINK EYE !!!! from the 3-D glasses provided by the theater. If you go to this theater to see a 3-D movie make sure to bring your own 3-D glasses or industrial strength ALCOHOL WIPES!!!!!
Movies 278 is reasonably priced, especially considering the prices at the Austell Regal. My biggest problem is the people that frequent it. Rude mobs of teenagers and I have to agree with Tiffany, babies in R rated horror movies is not acceptable. For the most part the Adults are as bad if not worse on cell phones and talking through out. I still enjoy movies 278 despite these minor infractions it's good value and i'll be going this week I expect. Incidentally if you want a change, the starlite drive-in is great value its only drawback is the locale its a rough location and a bit of a drive but lots of fun.nnMB
I got a $4.00 feeling, but paid $9.75 for it. Theater was dirty and dated in appearance. Probably the worst commercials I have ever seen to date!!! I need to recover before going back here. Not for me.
Movies 278 is the cheapest theater around that I know of (unless you're willing to drive over to The Picture Show in Roswell for $1.75). Apart from the minor disturbances from rowdy groups, I actually have more problems with parents bringing in their young children to PG-13 and R movies. (I'm mostly talking about crying babies)
I think Movies 278-Hiram is a great theater. My friends and I go there at least twice a week and the line is never too long for food/drink or tickets.
Tho ugh, the prices ARE a bit too much. I think it be nice if they were lowered.
My experience with movies 278 is limited. The couple times that I have been there I would say it was a bit obnoxious at times. But then again, all movie theaters are. I guess there's not a whole lot in Hiram for kids to do, and I remember going to the theater as a teenager and being a bit annoying. Of course the difference is that it was a dollar movie theater, which means that people weren't paying 10 bucks to see the movies. I do think that turning a review board into a cock fighting arena is pretty lame though guys. No one really cares to read about you ruffling your feathers here so you don't have to try and prove how much of a "big man" you are. Just grow up and write a review gentlemen, that's what the board is for. Either way, I'm taking my children to see WALL-E here today so I hope it will be a good experience for them. And I'm only 28 by the way, for any kids that want to post some sort of "your just old" retaliation here.
