Give me a break Ron! I've been to the Halls Cinema at least 8 times this past year...you make it sound like the place is on it's last legs....my family and I enjoy the "small town" feeling when we go there. We love going during the day, we usually have the whole place to ourselves!! It's like our own private showing! LOL! I've never noticed the seats being uncomfortable, never had loud kids disturbing me, and have NEVER had to ask anyone to start the movie! We were there just last week to see Ice Age and we were a few minutes late and they were already showing the previews....so either you like to exaggerate or have extremely bad luck!
I'll take this theater over the big fancy ones any day!! Last time I went to see a movie at the theater in Turkey Creek, it was sooo crowded we couldn't even get seats together! I like Halls Cinema and am going there again tomorrow to see Harry Potter....
Though I don't agree with Ron on everything, the sound went in and out during the previews; the seats were O.K.; the prices of the concessions are about the best in town; the manager seems nice, if he starts the movie late it seems to be because he is waiting for the people to clear the ticket and concession line.
Wow. This place has really went downhill. Even under the new ownership, things have actually gotten worse. - DON\'T get to your movie more than 5 minutes early, if you do bring a flashlight to find your seat because they don\'t turn on any lights until nearly showtime. DON\'T expect great sound or comfy seats. The seats and sound system are in major need of replacement. They DON\'T have ushers check the theatres during movies, so if you\'re in a theatre with a bunch of loud kids - you\'re just stuck because no one that works there will help your situation. DON\'T expect that your movie will start on time or even start at all. 3 out of the last 5 times I\'ve been there, I\'ve had to go ask the manager to start the film - well after start time. I used to love this place, but I\'m finished with it until someone fixes it back up or makes it into a second run theatre. $8.25 is too much to pay to set in a broke seat with the sound going in and out and with kids throwing a party in the back row.
