When I walk into a movie I expect the theater attendants to check in advance if the sound and picture quality is appropriate.
The last movie I went to see did not have sound during the first 15 minutes. Also, I was sent to a theater that had a dirty lense, so I the edge of the screen was missing. The speakers are also old in that theater room I was put in so the the sound quality was poor. Crackly speakers are not what people want to hear when they go see a movie. Plus, the floors are sticky, need a paint job and the a lot of the seats have been removed but not replaced so the ambiance is negatively affected as well.
When I go to the movies I want to feel like I'm sitting in the middle of what's happening, not ask the person next to me what's going on. Does the dirt on the projector's lense, the crackly speakers and the sticky floor cost extra or is it part of the original ticket price?
I agree with the HD upgrade. The seats are ok and the prices are on par for what theaters are asking in general. You have to realize the commercials before the movie keep prices on tickets down. If they didn't do that you'd be paying a lot more for a ticket. Even without the upgrade there are still certain movies you want to go see on the big screen or with a crowd because of the wow factor or the funny factor. Also realize, with the upgrades expect a rise in cost for the tickets. You have to take the good with the bad and that sometimes the bad (the commercials) helps you in the long run.
I agree, this theater needs to catch up with technology. Why go out to the movies anymore, when you just wait a couple extra months and can watch the movie on dvd in high def. Besides, if I here that Meet the Robinsons movie request again, i\'m goina go nuts. It would help if they changed up their preveiws once in like 10 years.
