This comedy is about a series of events that starts with the main characters being forced to marry a mobster’s daughter. It is a very light-hearted movie with a lot of character. The craziness of the movie is apparent from the first few scenes. However, I just don’t think the story was written well enough to cope with how crazy the writer wanted this movie to be. At points I felt like the movie was more about how beautiful the scenery in Hawaii is than actually filming a great movie. I heard this movie originally came out in 2009 and now just got a rerelease, which isn’t too surprising. Overall I just didn’t love the movie. I felt it had potential but in the end didn’t deliver. -
A chuck flick, no doubt, but an absolutely hilarious one! It's about a couple that is forced into marrying one another just because the bride needs a grrom as her daddy is in the mob and needs to hide his loved ones. Then, as luck would have it, the couple that is fake married ends up falling in love and wanting to be really married, of course. There are a lot of hilarious one liners in this, though the plot is pretty standard comedic romantic comedy potboiler. Tia Carrere is very good in her part, but the scene stealer is Mena Suvari. She absolutely rocks each and every scene in which she appears, stealing the movie from right under leads played by Dave Annable and Katharine McPhee. I am almost so pleased with this movie that I would give Rob Schneider credit for NOT ruining it, which is a tall order for Rob Schneider. Not a classic, but definitely funny.
