Yamla Pagla Deewana was an easy watch and I would say it is an O.K movie to rent but not to see in the theaters. The movie is attempting to be a comedy but it is rarely funny and unfortunately rarely entertaining. The scenes were so dragged out in the first half of the movie that I almost fell asleep, it did pick up in the second half. The story is predictable and not original and I did not relate to the characters. The romance between Bobby and Kulraj was not very realistic and I think that the actors did not have a good chemistry together. A lot of scenes in the movie were just plain ridiculous but surprisingly not too annoying. I did enjoy the music in the movie and I thought the acting was great as well. The ending of the movie was predictable but enjoyable. Overall, it is a film that you should see when you are bored and have nothing else to do. I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. -
Yamla Pagla Deewana is yet another Bollywood movie. The biggest problem with this film is that I only liked in in parts. Most of the time I was very confused by Yamla Pagla Deewana. Some of the scenes were excellent and everyone in the theater was laughing, but then other parts of the movie were flat and I could hear crickets in the theater. The film is about a conman who’s lack of morals gives him the ability to leave his family without a second thought. The three main actors in the movie have been in many similar films but Yamla Pagla Deewana is meant to accomplish something else. YPD is not meant to be a very serious film. In my opinion, it was made to be a spoof of the previous works of the main three actors. At times I thought the movie was self-indulgent, which would have been fine but the movie was unable to consistently connect with me. I really wanted to feel the film and acting but just was not able to. If you like Bollywood pictures, I would suggest seeing this film otherwise save your money.
