This movie is not a feel good film, but it is very good and touching film. The film is skilfully directed and beautiful to watch. Umay (Sibel Kekilli) plays the character superbly, she is girly and in the same time very wise. I was truly amazed by the performance that Sibel Kekilli gave in this film. In my opinion, she deserves to be recognized for this performance. Derya Alabora as Halime, Umay’s mother, and Settar Tanriogen, who plays her father were very good as well. I thought that the film was filled with great actors and great performances. This film made me think and I really liked that. I also liked that it did not try to explain or excuse the culture or the horrible actions that are unfolding in the film, it lets the horriffic attitudes and actions speak for themselves. I highly recommend seeing this film.
