Everybody loved this film and I am here to say that I did not like it and i am not afraid to say it. I mean I loved the acting and no one can deny that Matt Damon is a great actor, I was also really impressed with Colin Ford but I did not feel that this film was sincere and I did not really believe the emotions in it. I also thought that the film was pretty predictable and that was disappointing. I just felt that the film was trying to manipulate my feelings and I really hate that. I do have to say that that there were couple of really cute animal moments and those were great but I do not think it is enough for a movie. Overall, this film was not for me and I do not recommend seeing it in theaters but renting it is probably worth it.

Delightful and feel good. This is one of the best movies I have seen in a while. Go ahead and bring the entire family. It will make a great day.

Kinda cute. Great music. Thomas Hayden Church is great as the brother, reprising his "Sideways" role. A little too much product placement. Several nice touching scenes of the Matt Damon character dreaming about his deceased wife. I kinda liked it but think Kids might like it more.

I thought the movie was ok.. a little slow and boring in the middle.
ending was great, but had to wait 2 hours for that... i give it a 7 out of a 10 being the best....

Cameron Crowe wears his heart on his sleeve. His movies have always been more sentimental than most. Sometimes it works, like in ...Say Anything; sometimes it doesn't, like in Elizabethtown. We Bought A Zoo falls somewhere in the middle of these two. It could have easily fallen into the over-sentimental zone, but the performances, especially from Matt Damon, make this a mostly effective movie.

Damon plays a single dad of a troubled teen and a cute younger daughter still trying to get over the death of his wife. He decides to leave his newspaper job and buy a house that just happens to include a run down animal park being looked after by a group of quirky caretakers. In the hands of a different writer/director (Crowe co-wrote the film), this could have been a stupid comedy, and if Crowe had indulged some of his more cloying traits, it would have been a lot more treacly. But he scales it back just enough that the emotions are, a lot of the time, actually emotional.

It's the cast that keeps it from jumping over the line. They take the sentimental platitudes and don't beat us over the head with them. Damon is especially good. He's proving to be a fine dramatic actor, playing things real, and never overdoing them. I'm not usually one for this kind of movie, but it was actually affected by it.

I really liked this film because it was sweet and simple and had a great message, you can also see this film with your family because it is children friendly. I think Matt Damon did an amazing job with this role, it was very sincere and tender and I can imagine anyone doing a better job. I can not believe that some people think that this film is phony, I believed every second of it and the actors made it sincere and true. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a film that makes you feel good and maybe it was a bit corny but there are so many movies that make you sad and depressed and once in a while it is nice to see one that makes you happy. Overall, I recommend seeing this film in the theaters because it is a good film about good things.

This was a pretty good movie. It stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson in this relationship-building family film. The biggest selling point of this film was that it was directed by Cameron Crowe. A great and famous director of such films as Jerry Mcguire and Almost Famous. The film definitely felt very “Crowe.” This wasn’t Crowe at his best but I did enjoy it for the most part. The movie at times was very corny and felt as if Crowe was just trying to make the audience cry, as I’m sure it worked for at least a few people in the audience. There wasn’t really anything new or special about the film but it had a heart-warming feeling and was definitely sad at times. The movie was so so and probably something that could wait until it’s out on video.

We Bought a Zoo is a movie starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, and Colin Ford. The movie’s plot is exactly what the title says: a family gets together and buys a zoo and movie chronicles their problems with fixing up the zoo and maintaining it. During the course of the film the family is able to fix up the zoo while at the same time fixing up their relationships with each other. Overall I really liked the movie. It was a pretty basic family good time film. It’s a great movie to see if you’re not in the mood to think too much. The animals were very cute too. There were a lot of cliches in the film, which kind of detracted from the overall enjoyment. At some points during the film I wished that they would just stay on point but they didn’t. Overall, I would still recommend this movie.

I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. This was a great family film that I had lots of fun watching. The story in the film is small and people are ordinary and that was my favorite part of the film because I could relate to them. The characters are very well developed and likable, Matt Damon was absolutely amazing and gave the best performance of his career (in my opinion). The film was a bit sentimental but not in a annoying way and I believed every character and their actions. Overall, I think this film was warm and interesting and I had fun watching it.
