This is one great movie. The first 20 minutes you will see yourself if you're over 30 - and you won't like it; the adults behave quite stupidly and leave the young boy out to dry. Then the movie jump starts some real growth of the young teen; very subtle it is - it sneaks up on you and suddenly you're seeing bounding leaps of growth. The lead actors (the boy and his mentor) are both great actors; the writers and director leave you feeling that the action is real and powerful. In the end you know this young boy, totally lost in the movies beginning, will have few problems with confidence in his future.
The last minute or two are worth the price of the ticket.

A very solid movie. Completely character driven. I was somewhat surprised that Steve Carrell agreed to play a total jerk. I left the theater totally satisfied with the entire story line. Very well-written. Sam Rockwell (the water park manager) absolutely stole the show. The guy was fabulous. The kid who played the lead was also very good. Didn't seem like your typical Hollywood kid who was over-acting in every scene. Very well done. Well-worth your money.

My wife and I Enjoyed this movie very much! If you want to feel like you got your money's worth with a good storyline instead of feeling cheated with cheap special effects, a lot of cursing, or shoot em bang bang flick, then this is the movie for you.

I did not know much about this film before I saw it and I did not have high expectations going into it but I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed watching this film and I think it is worth seeing on the big screen. The story was interesting and sweet and I loved the cast as well. I thought that the film was very charming and sweet and I really liked Liam’s performance, he captured the essence of the character and it was a pleasure to watch him. Overall, I had a very good time watching this film and I recommend seeing it in the theaters.

I absolutely loved this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. This coming-of-age story is sweet, powerful and it was very relatable as well. The film was genuine and even though it was a bit manipulative with audience’s emotions, I did not mind it. The cast was absolutely wonderful and definitely made this film that much better. I thought that Liam James did a great job with his role and I hope to see more of him in the future. Overall, this film is very charming and I think that it is worth your time and money.

I thought this was a great summer movie, and only cliche stopped me from calling it the "feel good movie of summer 2013." No, this was not some amazing opus, just a heartwarming story about a boy coming into his own, with the help of an off the wall water park director played by Sam Rockwell.

This the funny and poignant coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter, Steph (Zoe Levin). I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. It is a very charming film with great characters that I could relate to and genuinely like. The soundtrack was perfect and not too overbearing and this film had a dream cast that elevated the film and made me want to know more about the characters and their lives. Overall, this bittersweet film will enchant you and I am happy that I got to see it on the big screen.
