My boyfriend is a big fan of scary films and he always drags me with him to see those films in th theater. I always leave the theater disappointed and annoyed, not this time, this time the movie was awesome and I had loads of fun watching it. I thought this horror flick will be just like other found footage bores but I was wrong and to my surprise the film was entertaining, scary and it had quite a few great twists. The film is well made, the editing was great and I really liked some of the angles of the camera. I was not too impressed by the acting but it was not horrible and did not ruin the overall experience. Overall, it is a really entertaining film that horror lovers will absolutely love.
I’m not really the biggest fan of horror movies in general. I’ve seen so many in the last few years and most of them were not good with the exception of Cabin in the Woods, which was great. VHS wasn’t a standard horror flick in my opinion, it was more like a collection of short stories revolving around a main storyline. The main story is about a video tape (hence the name of the film) that needs to be stolen out of the old run down house. Criminals are hired to do the job and when they get there they are forced to go through a bunch of different videos to find the right one. This is a great premise to show a bunch of short horror flicks. Overall I can say I did enjoy this film and it was refreshing to see a horror movie that was good with all the poor ones out there.
Finally a great horror film. I haven’t seen a good horror flick in a very long time. VHS actually is a compilation of horror shorts tied together in a theatrical film story. I’ve never really seen anything like this, it was quite original. The story revolves around a group of criminals hired to film one specific VHS tape in an old run down house. They find a dead body and a whole load of tapes that they must watch and go through. Each tape represents one of the horror shorts. Such a great idea, right? I can tell that the filmmakers really understand horror films, it definitely comes across as I was watching this movie. For anyone who loves horror films, this is probably for you. Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of horror movies, this is a great date night flick to see. Overall, I would definitely give this movie my recommendation.
I must say that I am a huge fan of horror films and VHS did not disappoint. At first I thought it was going to be similar to The Ring, because they both include watching a VHS tape and scary things happening but it wasn’t like that. The movie revolves around a group of criminals hired to find and steal a video. They break into the rundown house and are met with a dead body and hundreds of tapes they must go through. Each tape is more horrifying than the last. This movie was definitely scary. Each VHS is actually a short horror story in itself. I loved what they did with this film, it was very original and show that there is still life left in these types of short films. Scary from beginning to end, I was pretty much on the edge of my seat. Great movie overall.
