Three Musketeers Movie Reviews
User reviews on Three Musketeers
This film was really bad and i do not recommend seeing it in the theaters for the sake of your wallet and your brain cells. The movie was all about big appearances and a lot of special effects and beautiful costumes but it had no purpose, no context and overall it was a complete failure. I hope that there will be no sequels, unless a different director takes up the challange because Paul W.S. Anderson failed miserably. The film has absolutely no charm and on top of that the performances were pretty bad, it seemed that the cast gave up on this film and it was very much evident. Overall, the film was almost unwatchable and I really regret seeing it.
What a terrible horrible film this was, I wish i did not waste my time and my money on this mess of a film. I think that everybody who was involved with this film damaged their careers if not a lot then a little bit. The film is all glitter and no substance, all the special effects in the world can not make up for the fact that the director has no talent and i do not say that lightly. The acting was pretty terrible as well, it felt like the actors do not care at all about this film and i can understand why. Overall, do not waste your time and your brain cells on this horrible film.
Ugh. Just seeing the name Paul W.S. Anderson in the credits, I knew what I was in for. But not even that warning was enough to stop me from seeing this dreck. The Three Musketeers have been the subject of some excellent movies, but this isn't one of them.
Anderson is known for over-adrenalized action and video game movies, and brings his "style" to the classic story, which is tricked out to include a steampunk zeppelin. There's also bullet time acrobatic fighting. Note to filmmakers: The Matrix was the first time, and last time, this was cool, and that was back in 1999.
The casting is ridiculous as well, with Anderson's wife and constant collaborator playing the female lead, and Logan Lerman, an American in a French story, playing D'Artagnan like he's auditioning for a boy band. There's Oscar winnner Christoph Waltz, scoring a paycheck. It's a ridiculous exercise in how to turn a classic story into a total mess.
As a child I read all the books about the three musketeers and I have watched all the old films, I was very excited when I saw the previews for this film, however I was greatly disappointed. The film was not good at all and it made me angry that the makers of this film did such a poor job. Most of the scenes in the film were ridiculous and overdone. The film is all about dazzle but it does not engage the audience at all, I did not care about the single thing that was going on in this film, it is really sad to say that. Overall, I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters.
This is an action/adventure film about young D'Artagnan and three musketeers batteling a beautiful double agent, the film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Logan Lerman, Matthew Macfadyen and Ray Stevenson. I did not like this film and I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. I was so disappointed with this film, I really thought that it will be good but it was a complete disaster. The film is overblown and overdone in so many ridiculous ways that it is not even worth mentioning, it just shows once again that Hollywood is pretty desperate and sad.
