This was a pretty good movie. Lots of action that you left wanting more. However, it was a little confusing at times as they jumped back forth between earth and the outer planet. It was almost hard to keep up with the story when they did that.

This movie attempted to squeeze in too much. The movie jumps back and forth between "Valhalla" and earth. The more interesting story is on earth. The story on Valhalla is boring and slow for one primary reason: the actor who plays "Loki" is just plain bad. I can't even remember anything he said in the movie. Just ugh.

This movie is one more in a long line of movies which attempts to normalize the idea of a "wormhole", a tunnel in the space-time continuum, as the said on Star Trek. This is also theoretically described in physics by both Einstein and Rosen. It is called an Einstein-Rosen bridge after the two of them.

These are very real. You are going to find out soon! Only, no hunky, "cut" Thor is coming to help. It is going to be bad demons, posing as good "aliens" killing other bad demons... and then staying to help earth.

It is all a lie, people! There are no helper aliens as in "I am Number Four" or the Transformers movies. There are Einstein-Rosen bridges. Watch that you be not deceived.

Thor was amazing from start to finish! Show caseing characters recognizable to all and some lesser known ones comic book fans will appreciate. Not to mention awesome action scenes the comics could never keep up with. Not to mention Chris Hemsworth nailing the role of Thor.

a very good comic book movie. one of the better one in the last 3 years. great casting and strong acting. a film kids and adults can enjoy. at times it can be light on action, but overall a good film. i recommend seeing it on the big screen. stay for the ending credits,to see the setup for the sequel.

Thor was a so-so movie at best, a snoozer at worst. It either needed to be 20 minutes longer or 20 minutes shorter. The post-credit easter egg, was so bland it was like looking at a cold piece of unbuttered toast forgotten at breakfast and discovered after the noontime dishes. Sir Hopkins was an over-achiever, Renee Russo was cast as "2nd window dressing on left," Hemsworth was marginal. Portman and her two cohorts had dialogue that would fit into a Dixie cup. Thank God for Agent Colson.

I hate these idiotic 3D glasses as well. The powers-at-be are raking in extra cash with the added cost of the glasses and then have the nerve to ask us to "recycle" them. Really? Thor is also offered in 2D at some screens, but apparently the Bangor and Orono crowds are thought to be solvent enough to see fit to hit us with added surcharges to watch a film made more dark and fuzzy by them. Nothing in the film "jumped out at you" deemed necessary for the bit of black plastic draped across your face.

As a parent I wondered if this movie would be safe for my 8 year old to enjoy. After watching what the directer did to TRANSFORMERS, there is reason to doubt. However, this movie was not only enjoyable but, endured spectacularly without the need for vulgar language or suggestive dialog. My only caution is the volume of some sound effects. My son covered his ears during portions of this movie and I was close to doing the same (bring earplugs trust me). Overall, the entire movie was entertaining and summed up years worth of Thor's comic book history in one take. Stay tuned after the credits for an Avenger's scene with the head shield agent and the return of someone "thought to be lost".

Marvel Comics continues their winning ways with Thor, one of their lesser known heroes. The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh (yeah, the Shakespeare guy), may just be a long teaser trailer for next year's Avengers movie, but it's an incredibly entertaining introduction to a character most people have never heard of, at least in comic book form.

Thor is a god living on Asgard with his dad, whose about to give him the throne, when he royally screws up and gets banished to Earth. He then literally becomes a god among men. But this is the part that separates Thor from, say, Batman or Spider Man. Instead of playing this section for drama, Branagh plays it for laughs. Thor has too much strength for this world, and doesn't know how to keep from crushing everything in his path. He's also a god that no one knows, so he's got a complex to go along with it.

Christopher Hemsworth is very good as Thor. He's looks like a Norse god, but isn't above making himself the fool for a good laugh. The supporting cast varies from OK to cashing a paycheck (I'm talking to you, Mr. Hopkins). There's action, of course, but it takes a surprising back seat to story here, and that's refreshing. After all, comics are more about story than action. So Thor does its origins proud.

This is action/adventure film directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman. I was going into this film prepared to hate it but i actually had a very good time watching it and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was actually funny and extremely entertaining. Chris Hemsworth is really good as Thor and I hope to see him more on the big screen. Anthony Hopkins is amazing as always and I really liked that he was very strong and demanding in this film. The digital effects in the film are awesome, especially liked the gargoyles. Overall, you will definitely have fun watching this film.
