This movie BLOWS! And I'm not talking about what Mom did for Dad - that was actually quite refreshing. If you had parents like this, it would be no wonder that your kids would be screwed up.

If you like no-brainer acting, and a boringly ridiculous story line, you might enjoy wasting your time. I left after about 30 min. I couldn't take it any longer.

One of the worst films I've seen in a long time. Not only was the so called "humor" shameful and at times, downright degrading, but the whole movie is unrealistic and nasty just for the sake of being nasty. I've been married a very long time, and I could not relate to any of the drivel spewing from the characters in this movie. I thought "Guilt Trip" was awful, but this movie sunk to all time lows in so many scenes. The reviewer who said "don't let your children see this movie" was spot on. Any decent parent would shield their child from this nonsense. If you enjoy sick bathroom humor that tries and fails to be funny so often that it becomes exhausting to watch...then this is the flick for you. If I were to say I liked anything about this movie, then I would need to be taking a serious look at myself in the mirror and consider getting some therapy. Yes, it's really that bad.

I did not like this film and do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film had some good moments and the performances were very likable and that made the film watchable but the film lacks decency and heart and it has everything to do with the way Apatow directs his movies. It is a film about spoiled upper-middle class couple who tend to self-inflict problems upon themselves and I just could not relate or feel bad about any of their problems. The film was way too long, it was way too obsessed with sex and a lot of times it was downright nasty, I also thought that the film felt unfinished. Overall, I thought that the film was very whiny and annoying and I do not think it is worth the price of a movie ticket.

Not only was the movie BAD !,...I am VERY ASHAMED of the PARENTS that allowed their kids to see the movie ! And we wonder why kids are out of control these days and even grow up to do the stupid things that they do ,....yes you see it on the news every day !
And as far as the theaters ,.....DO NOT ALLOW KIDS TO SEE THESE TYPES OF MOVIES ON YOUR WATCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be the type of PARENTS that ''GOD'' intended you to be and you can always be very proud of your kids !

This move is the most realistic portrayal of marriage that I have EVER seen. Anybody who has been married for 10 years, should see this movie. It was un-freakin-believably good. If you aren't married, or don't have kids, then you'll be lost. If you are, then you'll totally get this movie. I am still shocked at how realistic this movie was. Wow.

This is the worst movie I have seen in a long, long, long time. I just don't understand why anyone would write a positive review on this piece of garbage.

The film was, literally, two hours of incessant whining and fighting and arguing following a neurotic LA couple. However, such thought provoking and interesting dilemmas were brought up, such as:

    - the husband eats too many cupcakes.

    - the wife wants to feel like she's 21.

    - the 13 yo daughter is, for whatever reason, unhappy and screams during the entire movie (even though she has more technology toys than Steve Jobs). I wanted to bludgeon her with a baseball bat.

    - the wife doesn't like her breasts and wants more sex.

    - the couple is having some kind of financial crisis, even though he runs a music studio and she runs some kind of fashion boutique. Oh yeah, they drive a BMW, go for vacations in Santa Barbara, and throw lavish birthday parties for themselves.

Is this really what we've come to as a society? Al Queda should use this film as training new recruits for the absurdity and emptiness of American society. I wanted to firebomb everyone in this movie. It, literally, made me sick to my stomach to be an American.

This is the true movie of the year hands down. My fiance and I could not stop laughing the entire time. The interplay between all family members: parents; siblings, husband and wife was spot on. Do not miss this movie.

I'm not married and I'm not even close to 40, but I ventured to see this with m friends who have enjoyed some of Judd Apatow's work. We also love Paul Rudd and thought Knocked Up was pretty funny too (even if it did have Seth Rogen in it, whose movies are usually not that funny - see this week's "The Guilt Trip" if you don't know what I'm talking about). This one was okay. I get what they were trying to do, though I still think it could have been better if they didn't try so hard. Couples are funny just on their own because both of them are usually pretty crazy and don't ever seem to be on the same page. Some of the scenes in this movie are kinda far fetched and seem pretty staged to me, which made it feel less organic. It should have been an intimate story, and it ended up feeling like a generic farce at times. I think Apatow can do better if he focuses more on telling solid stories and less on trying to force people to laugh.

As someone who just turned forty and has been married for a good while now, I saw the preview for this a while back and thought it looked hilarious! I was right! The whole premise is about how a couple that has been married for a long time suddenly realizes that they are both 40 and that life is not turning out the way that they expected it to (when does it ever?) so they try and do what most couples do- rekindle the magic. Some of it works, some of it is a disaster, but all of it is HYSTERICAL! My husband and I and our friends were laughing so hard all the way through because we could completely relate to all of the situations in the movie, and definitely the fights seemed to come from our own personal life. On the whole, I would say that this is the kind of movie you should see at the holidays with your loved ones because it reminds you why you love them in the first place - even if you have to work at it!
