This movie is strictly for fans of Adam Sandler. I liked his older comedies like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, but lately his movies have been missing the mark for me. 'That's My Boy' has its moments, but it's mostly obsessed with being as raunchy as possible and it doesn't always turn out to be as funny as I expected.
Andy Samberg plays the son of Adam Sandler. Samberg's character has been successful in life while his father, Donny, has been a failure. Donny seeks out his son to help him get his life back on track but his son hates him. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how it ends.
The movie seemed to want to be like "The Hangover" or "Bridesmaids" but it doesn't come anywhere close to those movies. Like I said, strictly for diehard Sandler fans.
