Step Up Revolution Movie Reviews

I realize that the fans of these movies are not going to care about the reviews but I think the filmmakers should feel ashamed of this latest film. Basically the film sucks and the actors (well they are actually dancers because they could not act if their life depended on it ) were only there to deliver fancy footwork and that is about it. I do have to admit that the choreography is pretty great but that does not excuse everything else, i mean they could have just made a music video or something. Anyway, I think this film is not worth your time or money or your brain cells.
What can I say, I do not understand people who go and spend their money on this trash but I know that everybody has different taste in films and I will try to be fare. Nevermind, I can not be unbiased about films like this one, I honestly would not call this a film. My friend is a dancer and he even bought me a ticket because he knows that I would never ever buy a ticket to see this kind of film on my own. I am a good friend and I went to see it with him and the whole running time I was rolling my eyes and looking for the exit sign. Overall, if you are a fan of these types of films you will see it no matter what so I guess my review is worthless.
Generally I’m not a huge fan of these dance movies but Step Up Revolution was entertaining. Everything about this movie is cliche, from the story about a rich daddy’s girl to the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Even with that fact, the movie knows exactly what it is. It goes from one dance number to another with the actors barely required to act. This is a good thing. The dance choreography was obviously the best part of the movie. The dance moves are absolutely amazing and visually the movie was great. Don’t go into the film expecting anything more than what you think it is. Go in with low expectations and you will be entertained at the very least. This is definitely a movie for dancers or dance lovers.
I am surprised they are making so many of these dance movies. Dance fanatics must be seeing these in droves. After releasing ‘Rock of Ages’, producers Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot are back to do what they know best, creating over the top dance flicks. There’s not much about the story that needs to be said - everyone seeing this movie is going for the dance moves, the beautiful dancers, and the spectacle. The proven dance/romance formula seems at play again in this film and I’m sure many people will enjoy it. However, I am not one of them. I need more substance in the films I enjoy. Dance is not a big part of my life so I am not as into this movie as others will be. It’s pretty clear who will be seeing this movie and who won’t. If you’re a dancer, go see the film.
