Good entertainment. It was hard to see Ben Afleck as a congressman. Still too young for that. But the story line was really good. Had me going and paying attention. In the end I was surprised. Good twist and good writing. Director worked the cast well and played out teh action well. Would say it is worth the time and money to see.
Well written and directed remake of the British TV mini series. Well acted as well. This is an adult movie, meaning one has to pay attention to appreciate the plot twists and details. This is an intelligent movie, not an action film. Younger audiences won't appreciate the plot as much.
A good suspenseful movie with good acting. However the threads do not all add up to a complete fabric. A lot of lose ends and incongruities. Russell Crowe is hairy and downplays the role and Ben Affleck does ok. Maybe he is coming back. See it but don't expect it all to add up. There are some elements that could have been explained with a word or two of dialogue. Others just can't be reconciled.
This is a jekyle and hyde suspense movie.the first part of the movie id rate A ... the last part 15 minutes the ending gets an F.. Its a very up FAST MOVIE STORY ABOUT BETRAYAL AND POLITICS AND ESPIONAGE . MOVING QUICKLY TO EXPLORE A COMPANY LIKE BLACKWOOD IN THE DEATH OF THE HEROES
LOVER.THE ENDING BETRAYS THE PLOT.
My son and I went to see this on opening day and the theater was filled with gray haired senior citizens. I was puzzled until I realized that this movie was based on the BBC show. In fact Helen Mirren from the BBC Prime Suspect was a star.
The story had lots of twists and turns but not a lot of real action. My son was disappointed but I liked it. But I would have been happy to see it on TV.
