Slumdog Millionaire Movie Reviews

I absolutely loved this movie. I rented it after all the Oscar-winning awards the cast and crew won for the film and decided I'd watch it. It was a great story and the end had me on the edge of my seat, and that's what makes a great movie. It was a definite landmark in my movie-watching experience. 5 stars!
After all the rave reviews about this movie, my wife and I rented it. The movie was intense and very dark. It did have a happy ending, but when we got through watching it, we both felt we would have been better off to have never seen it at all. If I could erase the memory of this movie from my mind, I would do so as overall it was very depressing to me personally - the love story and it's end are the most worthwhile aspect.
Well, I was watching this in my living room because The Oscars sent a copy to my family and I hated Slumdog Millionaire. There is just something about it that made my jaw drop when it won for Best Picture. I was sick to my stomach. All the nominees running against it were no doubt better and it won. I would never suggest seeing Slumdog Millionaire.
Good to see a movie that \"Hollywood\" didn\'t get to mess up! Really beautifully done the music is great and the story is very clever. It is both funny and sad and totally entertaining. I really enjoyed this movie and I think even teenagers would like it.
Possibly the best film of 2008.
The film is a must see and works on so many levels.
The casting is brilliant as I'm sure the American audience, like myself, had never seen any of the players before but was totally sold on their performances. Take your older children(12-16) to see this as they need to see just how lucky they are living here. The films direction and editing is remarkable and the story freshly original. The synopsis denoted here in no way depicts the bitter hardships, intensity and frankness of this story.
This one is rightfully collecting a mantle full of hardware, as it tugs on the heartstrings in the kind of fairy tale that cinema provides as the ultimate 2 hour escape.
Brilliantly photographed, scored, choreographed, and acted, this travels back and forth in time to justify the hard-to-believe explanations as to how a poor uneducated orphan could possibly know the answers to the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"
And at the heart of it all is a tender love story, a timeless theme of boy gets girl realized.
Outstanding movie for those who enjoy cinema. Sit back and enjoy superior editing, directing, acting, cinematography, casting. A creative story and a great way to learn more about our friends from India. This is a movie you could see once for the story, and a second time to appreciate the technically masterful job of combining color, squalor, crowd scenes, etc. I'd highly recommend.
Simply put... One of the Best Movies out this year!!! Slumdog Millionaire was well written, well Directed, and well acted. The story is compelling and the road that takes you there keeps you locked n with much anticipation. It is not very often that great films come along these days, so when they do, you have to take the effort to recognize them. No matter how you see it, you should see it!!! 5 Stars.
Its one of those times in which you are thankful of your choice.
Please do not miss it.
A fantastic portrait of India.
Script excellent, shooting excellent, realization excellent, playing excellent. True cinema!
Only black spot: some violence that make it unapropriate for kids, whichi is a pity.
This is an extraordinary movie. The acting, story, scenery, arrangement of flashbacks and especially the cinematography shows how good a movie can be.
It is gripping from beginning to end. This movie takes you on a fascinating journey of Mumbai slum kids and how their lives evolve.
Excellent all around. Go see it.
One note: this movie, in most cases, is not the 'feel good' movie you expect. Some parts are hard to take.
