Silent Souls (Ovsyanki) Movie Reviews
User reviews on Silent Souls (Ovsyanki)
This Russian film is definitely not going to appeal to the big audience but a small amount of people will love this film and appreciate the silent beauty of it. A lot of people will say that it is slow and boring and too artsy but it is because American audience is so used to noisy, big and flashy films that it is hard to understand and appreciate a film that has many hidden meanings and silent contemplations. I am used to watching Russian films and the darkness is familiar to me and i absolutely loved this film. The film is also absolutely amazing visually and it was a real treat for the eyed. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters if you are a fan of meaningful films.
I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film is slow and meditative and it is not for everyone but i found it really beautiful. The film is a bout love and loss and it is told quietly and slowly, i felt like i have emerged in a dream. I loved that the film explored effects of the pagan culture and visually the film is stunning and mesmarazing. The ending of the film is brilliant and it brings all the loose pieces together beautifully. Overall, this film will not appeal to wide audience but the selected few will appreciate the quiet beauty of this film.
