Easily the best zombie, romantic-comedy movie ever made. Shaun is a loveable loser who you can’t help but root for as he tries to win back the woman he loves while fighting off the hordes of reanimated dead. This movie stays true to the slow moving Romero-eque zombies and has many nods to classic zombie movies including Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of Dead and 28 Days Later to name a few.
This movie is more comedy than horror, but the horror is there and builds to a strong climax in the last 15 or 20 minutes in the movie. There is a lot of blood but it’s really not that gory of a movie. There are so many classic scenes like fighting off a zombie to the beat of Queen’s “Don't Stop Me Now.”
You don’t have to be a horror fan to enjoy this movie (although if you are you will doubly like this movie), if you like well written characters, a great script and story line you will love this movie. I’ve suggested this movie to everyone I know and I have yet to meet someone who didn’t like it.
