I did not like this film and i do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was way too graphic for my taste and I felt uncomfortable watching it. There were a lot of graphic sex scenes and hints of incest that was not pleasant or interesting to watch. This film is supposed to explore sex addiction but it only shows the effects of it and offers no explanations. This film raised a lot of questions that were never answered and the film ends in a question as well which made me frustrated. I think the performances were pretty good but it was hard to focus on them because the lead actor spent most of his time naked. Overall, i do not think this film is worth your money or your time.
I think that the film was alright but i do not think it is worth seeing in the theaters. I am not sure why critics are raving about this film, I did not find it to be as interesting or shocking. The film has a good pace and it is very good visually, basically technically the film is almost flawless but otherwise I did not enjoy it. I thought that the film had no message and no point, the sex was kind of meaningless and I really do not like films that have no point, it bothers me actually. The character study in the film is pretty convincing and the performances are really strong but that is not enough. Overall, this film is not for everyone and it was definitely not for me.
This is a drama set in New York city about a guy named Brandon who has a very private sex addiction and his life gets disturbed when his sister comes for an indefinite visit, the film is directed by Steve McQueen and stars Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan and James Badge Dale. This was a very intense film that feels kind of claustrophobic and unsettling but i do recommend seeing it because it is very interesting. The characters in the film are very exposed and the audience can see every emotion and unsettling though that is going through their mind, it is chilling and uncomfortable sometimes but I enjoy a challenge. The film does not offer any comfort and many people will find it to be a bit too intense but I loved it and I recommend seeing it in the theaters.
