Loved this movie- Im buying the dvd as soon as it hits stores. It was just as good as the first! This definitely made up for SAW V. Hoffman was just as sleazy but I think his time is running out- I hope there will be a seventh installment.

Horror franchises usually fall into the same rut as that story your Uncle Larry tells about the time he took your cousins on a cross country RV trip: It starts out with pretty cool premise and some surprises, though you'll usually forget it after you've heard it. The next time you hear it, it'll start to get more and more familiar, though it'll never be as interesting as the first time you heard it (if it was that interesting in the first place), and you'll start to wish that Uncle Larry would get past the boring parts. Eventually, you'll have heard it so many times that you'll be able to tell parts of the story yourself, at which point you'll have no use for Uncle Larry and he'll probably cut you out of his will. In the tradition of your Uncle Larry, SAW VI arrives, having long outlived its usefulness. That's not to say it doesn't have its moments. The writers give the film some currency by making an insensitive health care exec one of the victims. However, this one twist can't get rid of the feeling that when Jigsaw died in the SAW III, maybe the series should have as well.

I've been a fan of the SAW series for some time now, and although I was a little shaky about how good this film would be, SAW VI still delivers the suspense and horror the series is famous for. The Hanging Trap and Carousel Trap rank high among the series' great traps, and the twist ending is one of the best the series has concocted, featuring the return of a classic fan-favorite trap. Now, I simply can't wait for the next film to be released this time next year, to find out more about Jigsaw and his demented scheme that continues even after his death. It's wasn't the best SAW film ever, but if you're a fan, you cannot miss the latest installment to this now-legendary franchise.
