If it's Halloween, it must mean that another Saw movie is being released. Not that I asked for it. I've always found the series to be gimmicky, finding crazy ways to kill victims strung together by razor thin plotting and characters. I couldn't distinguish Saw III from Saw V from any of the other films, and this movie is no different.
Yes, there's kind of a plot. Sean Patrick Flannery plays a guy who lies about having escaped from Jigsaw, and he is forced to race against time to save victims from the hideous tortures he claims to have almost fallen victim to. Then there's...oh, hey, isn't that Cary Elwes? Wasn't he in the first one? Aw, it's nice of the filmmakers to bring back a guy from the first movie, considering this is supposedly the last one.
Thank heavens for that. Yes, I understand Lionsgate makes money off of this every year, and I'm in the minority. But I've had just about enough of hacked limbs for one lifetime. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the horribly done post production 3D. It all just seems like a giant cash grab. Which, I suppose, it is.
