This film was alright but I do not recommend seeing it in theaters because i do not think that it is worth the price of the movie ticket. I think that the film was acted very well and it was an interesting character study but in the same time this movie is totally forgettable and does not feel original at all. I do have to say that i am not the biggest fan of indie movies and this one was definitely an indie film so I am a little biased. I guess the film was a bit too depressing and real for my taste and i felt kind of sad after i left the theater and I really don’t like feeling like that after a movie. Overall, I think that some people will enjoy this film and will hate me for writing this review but I am just expressing my opinion and my opinion is that this film is totally mediocre and dull.
This is a drama about Jimmy Testagros who returns home after 20 years to look after his ailing mother, the film is directed by Michael Cuesta and stars Ron Eldard, Bobby Cannavale and Jill Hennessy. I thought the film was interesting and very well acted and I liked that the filmmakers did not judge the characters even though they were very flawed, however i did not like this film overall. The film itself was very mediocre and I will probably forget about it in a day which means that it is not worth the price of the movie ticket. I especially did not like the ending of this film which felt very forced and unreal.
