This is a film about near future where robot boxing is a very popular sport, the film is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo. The film was not as bad as I thought it will be, it was alright. It was extremely corny but it worked for this film, there were couple of amazing fight scenes and the cast was really good, these things saved this film from being terrible. The idea that people will care about robots boxing is kind of ridiculous and unrealistic and sometimes throughout the film I would remember that and it did ruin the experience a bit. I also thought that the film was a bit too long, the story was so simple, it could have been told in way less time. Overall, the film was alright and i think kids would enjoy it a lot.

How about the original "STEEL" episode from the twilight zone with Lee Marvin? Wished I hadn't lost his autograph. Man, what a screw up, oh, sorry; much like this movie.

So much more could have been done with this, but guess the same laziness exists in hollywood as it does in washington and our other great capitols to this day. Better luck next time, choose wisely.

Or Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots - The Movie. Or Over The Top with boxing machinery. Pick your poison. Real Steel is a mash up of action film and family drama that doesn't work on either end.

It's the future, and humans don't box anymore, instead using robots to do the pounding for them. It's an interesting idea, with something to say about our video game culture, but this is a kid's film, so instead, we get a down on his luck dad having to take care of the son he abandoned. They bring together old school fight skills and video game smarts to take a robot boxer all the way to a title fight.

The movie wants to be something more than just a family film with robo fights. It wants to be a character driven movies, but to have that, you have to have characters. These characters are so stock, and the storyline so tired, that you know exactly where everything is going before it happens. Yes, the fight sequences can be pretty cool, but the rest of the movie is so boring that it's hard to care.

I knew this is going to be bad as soon as i saw the previews and I was absolutely right. The idea of two robots fighting and people paying money to see that is ridiculous and pretty stupid and I can not believe that someone thought that it would make a good film, really?! I do not care about robots, I do not care if they fight because they are robots and they can not be hurt or killed, this film does not make any sense. The plot of this film is very stupid even without the robots and i do not understand why Hugh Jackman is in this film, he needs a better agent.

This is a film about a struggling promoter who finds a champion in a discarded robot, the film is directed by Shawn Levy and stars Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly and Dakota Goyo. When I saw the previews for this film I immediatelly knew that it is going to suck, however it was not as bad as I thought it will be. Do not get me wrong, it was still pretty bad but watchable. First of all, the idea that people will care about two robots fighting as much as they care about real boxing is silly and building a film around that idea is not smart either. The part where there is father-son drama is actually good and Hugh Jackman delivers, everything else is pretty awful and it is definitely not worth seeing in the theaters.
