very good movie. this is the 2nd best movie out of the serues. casino royale has more action, but this is very good, i suggest anyone that likes action to see this. I saw this movie 1 month ago and it is really good. see it

Its a good action movie but to me its not Bond. Nothing really to distinguish it as a bond movie. Watch any bond movie and compare it to casino royal or quantum of solace just doesn't feel the same. Bond is suppose to be in the espionage business but these last two movies just portray him as some action hero. Im not saying its a bad movie or anything just not bond in the truest sense.

Two stars for the boat derby, but Paul Haggis is showing signs that his time living in LA has begun to damage his judgment and seriously sffect his worldview-how do you go from Due South to Crash without having some emotional trauma showing evidence of itself? You can recover if you move away, I've discovered. After a year out of LA most of my words are back and I'm feeling almost human. Quantum is not a stand-alone Bond movie and one shouldn't have to have seen Casino Royale, an excellent, exciting, fun film, to understand the plot of Quantum. The fine stunt work and those brand new tiles so painstakenly glued onto the rooftops of Siena are wasted with the video-gameboy camera work, same with the intricate circus-act fight-wish I could actually see that scene sometime. This version of Bond is so nasty and brutal I'm sure he would kill my dog and not even blink-hell he'd kill a puppy for getting in his way. Better luck next time fellas!

I thought this movie was fantastic. Daniel Craig is becoming my favorite bond (i'm still slightly partial to sean connery) His performance was flawless and extremely sexy. The actress, Olga Kurylenko also did very well. She was much different then past bond girls and i really liked her. She was pretty and could fight. This movie has brought the bond films back to life and I truly enjoyed every moment. It delivered on the action aspect unlike casino royale which was also a good movie but lacked in action. I would recommend this to anyone who is wanting an action packed joyride.

This movie was amazing....the action was great and so was the plot line. There were so may twists to the plot that kept you on the edge of your seat and left you wanting more and more. Daniel Craig and the rest of the cast were fabulous.

overall a great Bond movie...yes 007 is not his normal self! but just like with the latest Star Wars movies,we have gone to the start while we have already seen the end, but in this case the movies are not a let down.People need to let Bond grow into the bond we all know and that is what we are getting. After seeing Daniel Craig in LayerCake you could see he was perfect for the part. Congrats to Marc Forster for reinventing 007 for the 21st century, a job well done, great movie making and I love that all Bonds clothing is by Tom Ford (perfect)James Bond is still the man I wish I could be...cant wait to have it in my full collection of Bond DVD's and Laser Disc's.....

While it probably will not make Bond fans love me I hated the original bonds...not my style. Yet this film was just modern enough...and had the right elements to make a great film. Was surprised that they didn't have the bullet through the hole thing, but it was at the end. Good story...but it could have been a little better.

Wow! My great expectations were shattered with this Bond sequel. Sorely missed the Bond theme throughout the movie, and the opening credit where Bond fires his gun at the crosshairs as the screen turns red. Very wrong to place this at the end. For me this movie substituted too much action for style, substance, flair, and plain fun. Tension and suspense need to build apart from a roller-coaster of bully fights. Craig needs to shed his constant menacing look and op for more expressions. Quantum didn't do it for me. Connery made us anticipate suspense, and that was half the excitement. Other Bond directors keep forgetting this, and it's sad.

As we discovered in "Casino" the production team pushed the reset button on the Bond empire, building up from scratch with an "old school" approach to story telling and character interaction/development. This apparent new mantra is continued in this latest installment almost to the point of being self-aware about it. There are no gadgets, lavish sets or overly improbable situations. The villain is water profiteer for a small 3rd world country- hardly the Spectre vibe. Even the overall look of the film seems dated and Bond is quite often unquaffed and sullied along with the gratuitous femme fatale.
Having said that, I found the story to be solid but not well told. There are many actions scenes (of course) but all of them were shot at extremely close range with rapid editing and dizzying camera movement leaving me to ponder in each of these scenes what was really going on. We know that Bond virtually wins every battle,i.e. we KNOW the outcome. But as a good story teller , the director needs to convey to the viewer HOW these battles are waged, but it never comes across. I still feel Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery but part of Bond's charm is that he never takes himself too serious and has occasional amusing quips- the writers don't allow for any of this with Craig's character development. Lastly, the premise that Bond is on a revenge trip is extremely downplayed and not the cornerstone of the story we have been led to believe. This movie will be just as compelling on DVD.

You have to understand that these stories are PREQUELS to the James Bond stories Janet and Steve grew up with. "Casino Royale" was James Bond's introduction to the life of a spy -- a life he was willing to turn his back on for the woman he loved. At this point he has not yet had the chance to grow the cool, unattached demeanor, the love 'em and leave 'em attitude, and the TRUST NO ONE philosophy he will later adapt. For now he still reacts emotionally.

In "Quantum of Solace", British Intelligence first learns there is an evil organization that has infiltrated the highest levels of government and key businesses -- an organization as yet unnamed but is no doubt SPECTRE ... sorry you missed that Steve.

As this series of James Bond movies continues, I'm sure we will see Q once again as Bond continues to battle this sinister organization.
