For the dumbs that didnt see Alien the 8th passenger, this may be great, but at this point I was expecting much more from this movie and its like if I was to the old Alien movie refactored for 3D. Such a waste of time. The effects are good at the beginning, but then the rest of the move is ran in a dark place with very sad effects. The story is also very very flat, many things go unexplained almost as if they desesperatelly trying to follow the old Alien storyline with a different ending.

Definitely not for anyone who doesn't like to think, "Prometheus" is a serious movie about serious issues, namely the origins of humanity and what that means for the future. Ridley Scott has really outdone himself by crafting a superb and immensely watchable movie that is concerned with making the audience think about things that movies generally don't dare to go near.

Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron are amazing in their parts, building on their recent artistic and commercial successes like "Shame" and "Snow White and the Huntsman". Both of these actors bring incredible qualities to their roles, making the movie the most memorable alien movie since Scott's own "Alien".

I loved this film! Ridley Scott has the talent for creating a universe that is familiar and yet completely alien; inviting at first, but you know it is going to go horribly wrong. That's not a knock on Scott, that part you know about. I mean, it's the genre.
The acting was first rate, and you didn't know where the story was going. Is it a prequel? I don't think so. It was more like the film opens up a universe with these inscrutable and terrifying 'engineers.' What we took from the film was a solid discussion of where the story left of, where it was going. And we loved that, while it expands the Alien universe, the film shows us that the aliens we've seen from earlier films were only the beginning of what is to come.
There were a couple of little hiccups in the script, one of them rather glaring, but I can forgive that in view of what else I liked about it. Looking very forward to the next film in this storyline.

Somewhat disappointed. I suppose I was expecting something fresh and not another prequil. The acting was both good and poor with casting that didn't always complement the story or each other. The story line was the same. I really liked when I thought it was heading out to find the source of mankind then it turned into an Alien prequil which ended flat. If you haven't seen the original Alien movie, you would miss the point entirely. I know its a syfi but I lost all sense of believeability when the heroin has a cesarean section and two minutes later shes running through the halls of an alien ship to save earth, then two of the crew members volunteered to die with the Capitain for no reason what-so-ever. Pretty thin. There are some excellent special effects which save the movie from being a complete flop.

I was kind of scared to go see this film because I had such high expectations and I was afraid that I will be bitterly disappointed. However, I was not because the film was pretty good and I had a great time watching it. My friend and I decided to see it in 3D and I do not regret that decision, it looked absolutely amazing and it is definitely worth the extra cash. The film has amazing sets and some crazy visuals that will blow you away. The story is also interesting and it felt pretty original which is kind of hard to do with prequels. The film has some flaws and it is not as good as Alien but I still think that it was pretty amazing. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters.

I had very high hopes for this film and I was kind of afraid to see it but I can honestly say that I loved this film and highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. We saw the film in 3D and I think it was totally worth the extra cash, it looked amazing. THe film was very interesting, it looked incredible and the story was very good. The sets and the production value of this film is truly breath taking but it did not overwhelm the story and the whole idea of this film. I think the filmmakers explored very interesting themes and this film is definitely more intellectual than the previous ones and I enjoyed that. Overall, i had fun watching this film and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters.
