I really liked this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film is not easy to watch but it is honest and smart and it was very interesting as well. I liked the story and the lead actress Adepero Oduye was absolutely amazing and I was very impressed. I thought that the film was very original and everything about it was authentic from the characters and situations to the dialogue and I was completely immersed in this film from the beginning to the end. I like that the film felt real and I believed all the characters and situations. Overall, this film is definitely worth seeing in the theaters.
I loved this film and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was realistic and exhilarating and heartbreaking and I love that it made me feel all of these different emotions. It is a gritty film and it was acted superbly by all of the cast, especially Adepero Oduye, she really impressed me. There is an incredible dramatic energy in this film and I loved how much detail the director put in this film. This film definitely feels different from anything I have seen and it is very refreshing to watch a film like this one. It is a very impressive debut for Dee Rees and I can not wait to see her next project.
I really loved this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. It is a small film but it is a very important one and i think it will enrich your life if you decide to see it. The film was authentic and i always welcome that, i am excited to see future projects from Dee Rees. I liked the theme of the film and I really liked how it was approached. Adepero Oduye was really great in her role as Alike and I was very impressed with her skills as an actress. The film was kind of sad and in the same time really inspiring and empowering, we need more movies like that to help teens who are trying to come out, to show them that it is hard but totally possible and necessary to do if one wants to live for real. Overall, this was a great debut for Dee Rees and I enjoyed watching this film.
This is a drama about a Brooklyn teenager who searches for sexual expression, the film is directed by Dee Rees and stars Adepero Oduye, Kim Wayans and Aasha Davis. I think this film was alright and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters. Even though there are some flaws in this film due to the inexperience of the first time writer-director Dee Rees, the film is emotionally true and has amazing performances and I also thought that the film looked very good visually. I found myself rooting for the main character and that s always a positive thing, I could see the struggle and feel the pain of trying to find your identity. The film could have been full of cliches but it felt original and was really moving. Overall, I recommend seeing this film in the theaters and can not wait to see future projects by the director.
I think this film was really great and i highly recommend seeing it in the theaters. This film really moved me and I found myself caring for the main character and hoping that she will succeed in her search of sexual identity. The film felt original and deeply felt and I salute that because movies like this usually are full of stereotypes and the director of this film managed to avoid that. The film had an amazing lead performance and I was blown away by Adepero Oduye. I also really liked the cinematography in this film and i know that it has an award for it from Sundance Festival for it. The film is heartbreaking and in the same time beautiful, i was really moved and i suggest you check this film out.
