I thought that this film is alright but I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters, it was way too depressing for my taste. Social problem dramas are never easy to watch because they expose the truth and none of us really want to spend our free time being depressed and sad, i know what just said is politically incorrect but again it is the truth. Emily Watson did an amazing job with her role and in my opinion it was one of her best roles yet. I could have done without the voiceover, it made the film feel clumsy somehow. Overall, this is a very serious film and if you are looking for entertainment this is not the film for you.
