I am from Nepal and I am a huge fan of ONE DIRECTION..most of the teenagers really want to watch this movie...but unfortunately, its not available in Nepal :((
i really wish this movie would release in Nepal soon :))
I am a good and cool aunt and after prolonged begging from my niece I caved and agreed to take her to see this doc**entary about her favorite group One Direction. The theater was full of excited teenagers and I felt very old and very out of place but when my niece told me that I was the coolest aunt ever I felt a bit better. Anyway, the film was not horrible but if you are not a fan of this cute boy group, you will not see this film anyway so my review is kind of pointless. There was no real insight into the group but the boys are really cute and it was fun to watch them being very boyish and charming. All the girls in the audience were totally smitten by these guys and it reminded me of how I was totally in love with David Lee Roth and it also reminded me how the music changed so much since I was a teenager.
I have a friend who is 25 years old and I am sad to say that she love One Direction. I love her and she is one of my best friends but it is hard for me not to laugh when she listens to this group. Anyway, the film came out right on her birthday and the only present she wanted from her friends was our attendance to the premiere of this doc**entary. She is very lucky to have such good friends because we all showed up (quite drunk so we have a t least a bit of fun watching this movie). We saw the film in 3D which was totally unnecessary but fun and I have to say that I did not hate this doc**entary as much as I thought I will. The theater was completely full of teenagers and I felt so old but this film was targeted towards teens, however my friend could care less about that fact. Anyway, the film did not really give any real insight into the group but they were really cute and nice to look at so I guess my money did not go to waste completely.
My nephew and my niece really wanted to see this film and as a good uncle I decided to sacrifice my brain cells so they can have fun. The film was boring, repetitive and it had absolutely no real insight into the group but my nephew and niece still had a great time watching it so I think that the fans of this group will enjoy the film. The film manages to frame the boyish appeal very well and the girls in the audience were almost fainting, it was quite funny to watch. Overall, if you are not a fan, I know you will not see this film anyway and if you are a fan you will see it no matter what, so I guess my review is quite pointless.
I am not a fan of this group because I am not a teenage girl, however I do have a teenager in my life and she was dying to see this film. It was not as bad as I thought it will be but if you are not a fan, I definitely do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film does hit the spot with the target audience, I have never seen so many teenagers and pre-teens in a movie theater before and they all seemed to be very happy to be there. I found the film to be very repetitive and quite boring but this film was not created for me.
This is not just one of those "...if you are a fan of you will love this movie, blahblahblah, reviews" but this is really one of the best concert movies I have seen in a very long time, and on pair with "The Band" or "Helter Skelter."
