I am a big fan of Jack Kerouac and “On the Road” is one of my favorite novels so I was kind of nervous to see this film. The film was not quite as intense as the novel but I thought it was pretty good and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. The director was able to capture the joy and the feeling of freedom and I was pretty satisfied with this film. I did find the sex scenes to be completely unnecessary and I did not enjoy Kristen Stewart’s performance, once again I was proven that she can’t act at all. I also found the film to be a bit messy and not cohesive but I never expect the film to be as good as the book so I was not terribly disappointed with it. Overall, I do not recommend seeing the film in the theaters but I suggest renting it when it comes out on DVD.
