This is a drama based on real-life events in Algeria in 1990. I highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters and telling others about it. I honestly did not know the story and I was shocked to learn that the film was based on true events. The film is thrilling, shocking, intriguing and exhilarating, basically all the things that you want in a film, this movie has. The film explores so many important themes: bravery, pride, love, and despair. The acting in the film is superb and I have enjoyed every second of this very powerful and moving film.

This film was based on a true story and I was a little bit shook up by it. The film is not very thrilling, but I liked how the film portrayed the men of God in modern days. The film is repetitive and it slows it down too much, but it has a good message and I do think it is worth seeing, especially if you know the situation with French-Muslim relations. In the end all the monks die (the execution is not shown) and the last scene is very powerful and intense. I think you have to be caught up with the current situation between French and the Muslims to fully understand the movie and the message. If you are, I highly recommend seeing it.
