In a word this movie is sweet. The acting was done well, and though at times it was a bit outlandish and a wee bit beyond belief, it was entertaining. No swearing - good movie for kids as well as adults.
I liked it alot more than I anticipated. Abigail Breslin was really good. Aaron Eckhart's performance was charming. It was an excellent use of my silver passes.
Nothing new is brought to the table (no pun intended) of this horrible remake of a great, great movie. Rent the REAL "Mostly Martha" dvd -- better yet, BUY the REAL "Mostly Martha" dvd and see REAL actors performing their craft at the highest level with a great, great story!!!! The actors and director of this picture should give all the money they were paid to the actors and director of the REAL "Mostly Martha" movie because they did NOTHING to earn their bacon. The REAL movie is fabulous and heart rendering -- even in German with subtitles. This thing pales in comparison and should never have been made. Everything they do is a poor copy of the real thing. Even the pregnant assistant is cast as a clone. Two minutes into the movie you realize they are doing exactly everything from the real movie -- but doing a poor, poor imitation of the real deal. This is Mazzola to real butter! YCCCHHHHHHHHHH! !!!!!!!!!
Delightful and refreshing! No cursing or smut. A great story with fantastic casting that had a little bit of everything in a perfect NYC setting. Highly recommended--a definite 'must see'.
Not a bad movie at all. Yes summer is here and the movies are rolling, and the Popcorn is a Poppin'. This movie makes a good point, so put on your Thinking Caps before you sit down. Think Diet while you watch this one. Regards, HK
