This is a comedy directed by Michel Leclerc and stars Sara Forestier, Jacques Gamblin and Zinedine Soualem. The film is about sex and politics and how these two things interconnect and why. I am not sure that the film portrays the interconnectedness of these two things very well but at least it is entertaining enough to watch. I do think that the film is funny and fun to watch and I liked how the director did not shy away from hot topics. I loved the performance of Sara Forestier, she was absolutely teriffic, she made her character likable and human. Overall, I had a lot of fun watching this film and I highly recommend seeing it in the theaters.
I enjoy French cinema because it is smart and sophisticated but I have noticed that French comedies are never good. This film was trying to be funny and smart but it did not accomplish it’s goal. The movie was funny sometimes and smart the other times but it was never the combination of both. The humor in the film was kind of odd and I do not think that Holocaust should be included in the comedy. Maybe i just do not understand French humor, but i did not appreciate jokes about sexual abuse. Sara Forestier is great in her role and has very good comedic timing. Jacques Gamblin's is also good in his role and they both make a very odd and quite unrealistic couple. Overall, I think this film will not do too well in the United States but Europeans will probably like it.
This is a comedy directed by Michel Leclerc and starring Sara Forestier, Jacques Gamblin and Zinedine Soualem. I really liked this film and i recommend seeing it in the theaters. The main character Baya is so interesting and different, the actress Sara Forestier did an amazing job with this role and I am not surprised that she has won a French Oscar for this part. The movie was also funny and sweet, however I did not understand some of the jokes because they were focused on the French audience. Overall, i highly enjoyed watching this film.
