My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Movie Reviews
User reviews on My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
My little girls and I went to see this at a special screening with other Pony fanatics and I gotta say the whole event made for a very unique and memorable entertainment experience. The best part of the movie for me was the main message is about how you really don't need to try to fit in and how you should just be yourself and go forward treating others the way you want to be treated. I think this is a very important message for little girls and boys all over the world to learn, especially in today's age when there's so much pressure to conform. I thought it was bad when I was young but it's so much more intense for my kids. On the whole, this is easily the best family entertainment you can find out there this weekend. Some will gripe at the fact that it's based on a toyline, but so what? So is Toy Story and even Superman is made to sell comic books. As my kids would say, come to where the magic is, where it all begins! Follow follow my little pony, my little pony and friends!
I might be almost 18 but so what? I loves me some My Little Pony! They're fun and sassy and magical - and who wouldn't want all of that?! The thing I love most about the ponies is that they are all such strong characters and use their powers for good to bring joy and laughter to all who know them. If you ever watched the original series from the 80s it's a lot darker and more sinister than this reboot. There they contend with magic dragons and evil kings and dastardly demons. This time they're mostly concerned with who can throw the best slumber party, lol. It's what I call My Little Pony meets The Powerpuff Girls. The new movie is a big improvement on the series itself since it goes into a lot of issues that the series just cant get into because of time constraints. I think little kids all over the world will enjoy this movie and their parents will too so get your tickets today!!!
Ok, confession: I may be a 35 year old male but I am unabashedly one of the rare BRONIES in the world who live and die by the code of My Little Pony! Yes, it's true. You should be so luck lol. I have to admit that when I first saw the trailer for this animated romp through Ponyland I was a bit underwhelmed. I mean who wants to see their favorite ponies turned into teenage girls who hang around locker rooms in high school? Isn't that kind of lamer than lame? I thought so. But I was wrong. The movie is actually super cute and imparts a lot of good morals to the youngsters in the audience without being cloying or preachy. I would say that that's a good reason to watch it. It isn't going to change the life of anyone who sees it, but for fans of the toyline and fans of animation in general, it's fun and frivolous and can be seen as one of the more family-friendly ventures in theaters this weekend. I took my little niece and we both loved it!
