Though I didn't think I would like this movie in the least, I actually had a good time. I have to go to a lot of movies that I don't like for the kiddos, but this is not one of them. Jim Carrey is hilarious, and the kid actors don't suck, which is rare.
    Also, who doesn't like penguins!

I really liked this film and i recommend seeing it in the theaters. The film was warm, funny and the penguins were almost unbearably cute. The penguins are definitely the main characters in this film and they basically steal the whole film. I mean I felt a little sad that Jim Carrey did not get to be his crazy self, but I admire him nonetheless. Jim Carrey was sweet and sincere in this film and I was very impressed by him. I was in awe how well trained the penguins are, they were incredible and absolutely adorable. Overall, this is a great family film that you and your children will enjoy.

Come one people. It doesn't make sense. Penguins? You Serious? Why pay full admission for a cheap laugh? Don't let yourselves get taken advantage of.

This movie was very inspirational. A wonderful family movie. At some points it was funny but only jim carrey delivered these parts. I think it was more of a family movie and more romance than a comedy. Overall I think that It was a wondeful movie and a little kid would love it.

So let's begin with the things that I enjoyed about this film. I thought most of the parts were humorous and Jim Carrey was hilarious as usual. The penguins were absolutely adorable and when they need them to be animated they looked very real. The storyline was creative and I enjoyed it overall. Although I think most adults might find this movie too childish I am afraid. But it's a great family fun comedy that will better anyones mood. Plus, WHO DOSEN'T LOVE JIM CARREY?!

This is a comedy directed by Mark waters and staring Jim Carrey and bunch of cute penguins. I was having a really tough day and decided to cheer myself up with a comedy. I know this film is not smart but it did the job, I felt much better after watching it. I wish Jim Carrey used more of his charm and silliness in the film, but the penguins did it for him. I know that the filmmakers used real penguins for the most part and only some reactions were computer animated, and it is impressive how naturally amazing the penguins are. I don’t know why penguins are so adorable and funny to watch, but they are and they totally made my day. Overall, the film is very cute and it will better your mood for sure.

I took my 5 year old nephew to this film and of course he absolutely loved it. However, if you are an adult, you should avoid this film. It is a silly story and this story can only appeal to children, mainly because the penguins are cute and they do silly things. I was disappointed that Jim Carrey did not do more in this film, I think he should be the funny guy in the film, not the penguins. I can not deny that the penguins are really cute and funny, I learned that the penguins are mainly animated and I was shocked because they looked so real. Overall, this film is great for children and not so great for adults.

Jim Carrey has entered that dangerous period in his career where he's doing family films, a place where big stars go to mug for the camera and usually become horrible caricatures of themselves (Eddie Murphy, anyone?). Luckily, unlike Mr. Murphy, Carrey never phones it in in Mr. Popper's Penguins, a family film that isn't great, but is better than it should be.
Carrey plays the title character, a sharky real estate developer estranged from his ex-wife and kids. One day, he learns his father has died, and left him 6 penguins. This cold hearted man has no use for them, but he's trying to reconnect with his kids, so he'll do whatever he can, including making his home a frozen oasis for the birds.
You can see the symbolism from a mile away, and there really isn't anything original in this film based on a children's book from the 1930s. But Carrey keeps things fun without going over the top like he could have. It's a fun diversion, and though I'm not in the target demographic, I enjoyed it.
