Monday Morning Movie Reviews

I loved this feature film. The action and the actors were simply compelling to watch. My only criticism would be that it may have been a bit overly intellectual. That coupled with a few offensive scenes may make some people upset. Some of the scenes are so graphic that they are not easy to watch. But I thought the artistry of bringing in many elements in the story and in the filmmaking was really wonderful. It's a unique movie, in that it definitely structures itself apart from the traditional. Some may not like the departure. I did. I also loved the ramblings of the homeless. It represented the absolute chaos that must be going on beneath the average citizen's scope of vision. Yes, bring on more of these films.
Monday Morning took us by surprise. So I wanted to write what I felt after we've had much discussion on it. First of all, it made us all (three of us) think. It is a very affecting movie. It carries a punch and the depictions are so real that it becomes uncomfortable at times. But they are real and we were glued to the story throughout. The actors wer awesome. The director certainly has a "voice" and it's his own style. I look forward to seeing more from these filmmakers. This is a rare one and I highly recommend it.
I did not like this film and I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters. It is a very predictable and obvious indipendent film that fails to be original in any way. It is an indipendent film but it felt like it wanted to be a mainstream Hollywood film and the filmmakers could not decide which personality to take on. The story of the film is boring and I knew what will happen from the very beginning. The characters in the film were weird and quircky and I have seen those kind of characters million times before. Overall, this film sucked and it is not worth your money or time.
