While getting a hair cut, my barber said that his son watched this movie on his iPhone. From what the son viewed in between phone calls, he did not like the movie. If my barber won't endorse this movie, how can I possibly recommend it?

This movies is another stinker. I read the story many years ago (yeah, it's an old one) and the book was much better. What the world doesn't need is another movie with military experimenting gone wrong. The silver lining to this movie is the twist at the end, which might reinforce the idea that the good fight is worth fighting to the end; giving up too soon is defines tragedy.

It was a great movie. I dont know why it is ratedr besides the fact of language. The effects were great and also was the story. Depending on who you are and what you like may change how you feel about the ending. And how the movies plays the creatures roles is truly remarkable. But the movie doesnt take the time to show you the real plot as you will and will leave you wondering questions.

I saw this today at the matinee. I think its worth seeing. There were plenty of "edge of your seat" moments and some of it was actually very scary. Didnt like how they played the military's part in this movie. Whoever their military advisor was on this movie (assuming they had one) should be sent home with a no pay due. There was even one part in the movie where they had what was supposed to be a modern day MP dressed in a WWII style uniform and driving a WWII jeep. I couldnt believe it, I mean come on!! But I guess it could fool all non veterans. So yeah...if you are in the Army this movie will totally irk the **** out of you on how they played the military's role in the whole thing. I dont think Steven King is a big Army fan from the way he made the 3 main Army characters in the movie completely look like helpless idiots that were involved in some huge military conspiracy. Great twist at the end though and a little heartbreaking. Overall good movie...plenty of gore and guts too...Go see it in the theatre. Pay for the matinee...great time killer if you're off work early, I dont think I would pay full evening prices for this one though.

Despite the projectionist screwing up the start time and actually showing the film (had the bulb fade out), the movie itself was the most ridiculous thing. What a horrible flick. Some big octopus reaches its arms through some fog to grab people ...out of a grocery store. Yet it can't penetrate glass. Hell, I would rather go into a local grocery store and just make a documentary about someone buying a bag of chips than to sit through this HORRIBLE, LACK OF IMAGINATION movie. Don't waste your time or money going to see this movie and forget about even downloading this one. Gee I wonder why Hollywood is losing money? The movie sucks major ass.

I liked this movie, but I guess I am biased by being a fan of Steven King's stories. I actuall thought the effects were very good, especially compared to many of the earlier Steven King movies (Langoliers). I liked how they showed the two natures of people and how they react in a disasterous situation and how easily people will be led astray. The ending also had a big impact on me, since my father took his own life as a result of severe depression. Death is NEVER an answer, because you never can know when the mist will dissipate. I had a deep meaning to me, which most people didn't catch on to and just saw it as some Twilight Zone ironic tragedy. I for one really liked the movie.

This was the WORST movie I have seen in a long time. I walked out after an hour. I kept hoping for some suspense but instead just got bad dialogue and ridiculous special effects. BAD BAD BAD!!! TERRIBLE!

I thought it was a waste of money and time because the depiction of the christian lady was biased, not all christians are wackos. The movie was too graphic to build up to the ending they chose.

Wow, Barry, great review! Almost like you work for the Chicago Sun Times or something! Tell Ebert we said hello! I was equally enthralled with The Mist!
