Michael Jackson's This Is It Movie Reviews

Michael Jackson was a musical entertainer above all. He was a perfectionist and his style of music was loved by many and ignored by others. This movie depicts only a few months out of his life preparing for a long awaited concert tour to begin in London in July of 2009. The movie was put together from filming of rehearsals at Staples Center in L.A.
I must say that the editing was extremely well done. The Audio was awesome. Regardless what your opinions are about him, His music is what is important. This film is only a glimse into what he did over the last 40 years preparing for concerts and entertaining his loving fans. Go see the movie. You will feel good when you leave at the end.
For so long we've been inundated by sleezy pseudo journalists painting a negavite picture of MJ. Sure, he had many unusual incidents and excesses, but at heart he was a loving, gentle, lost sole who loved to entertain and who had a huge gift. This film shows the positive side of MJ, his immense talent, his innocent love for people and his earth. Rarely have I seen a film where patrons applauded throughout the screening. Highly recommended.
THIS HUMBLE MISUNDERSTOOD MAN WHO WAS FALSELY ACCUSED BECAUSE OF HIS PURE AND TRUSTING DISPOSITION [I KNEW HIM PERSONALLY] .PEOPLE DO NOT REALIZE THAT HIS ACCUSER,JORDAN CHANDLER HAS TWICE TRIED TO ADMIT IT WAS A SET UP. MICHAEL WAS TOO SENSITIVE A SOUL...TOO TRUSTING AND NAIVE ...TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE FOR THIS WORLD. THIS MOVIE SHOWS HIS TRUE TALENT AND HUMILITY. HE DIDNT BELONG HERE .HE IS DEFINITELY IN A BETTER PLACE. I ONLY WISH HE HAD TRULY SHARDED HIS ACCIDENT COMPLETELY...WITH THE PUBLIC AND THEY WOULD HAVE NOT ONLY UNDERSTOOD HIS RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGURY,BUT HIS NEED FOR WIGS AND PAINKILLERS SO SEVERE WERE HIS BURNS FROM THE PEPSI COMMERCIAL IN 1984 [I BELIEVEIT WAS]
i really enjoyed M.J , he's quite a charter and a wonderful
singer and dancer. His back up dancers were great and that guiter girl was wonderful .after the movie i realize that was he's lasted prefornments. how sad
I love Michael Jackson and have since I was only 11 years old. He is a spectacular, wonderful singer, song writer and dancer!!! He also gives millions to charities for the poor, Aids in Africa and to help the environment!! We need to do our part in helping continue his wishes by helping keep our environment a loving and healthy place for all!!
Full disclosure: I'm not a Michael Jackson fan. I've always felt that his music was overrated, and that his cultural importance was always exaggerated. Yes, he was a great performer, and even had some good songs, but the "King of Pop"? That throne belongs to Prince. And his personal demons always overshadowed whatever talent he had. After Michael died, I decided to go back and revisit his music to see if I was just being harsh. Unfortunately, I found that I liked it even less than I remembered it. But I was surprised by how awestruck I was when I watched his performance of "Billie Jean" at the Motown 25th Anniversary special on YouTube. Even in this pixelated little box, Michael seemed to float above the ground when he pulled off the moonwalk for the first time on the public stage. It left me shaking my head. I almost got that same feeling while watching THIS IS IT, the doc**entary drawn from hundreds of hours of rehearsals for Michael's sold out series of shows at London's O2 Arena. While watching this movie, for the first time in a long time, I forgot about Michael Jackson the tabloid freak and remembered Michael the entertainer. What was most interesting about this movie is how it presented a completely different side of Michael. Every public move Michael seemed to make, no matter how bizarre, seemed planned out. This is unrehearsed Michael, and watching him work brought me a new respect for him. He's vulnerable, which makes him more human. It's fascinating to find an emotional connection to a man who always seemed to keep the public at arms length even as he embraced them. The film is also technically impressive. While it is being pitched as rehearsal footage, it looks, sounds, and is edited better than most music videos, not surprising when you consider Michael was a perfectionist who produced the most expensive music video in history. THIS IS IT could have taken the easy route by just showing Jackson performing, and it probably would have been just a grab at fan's cash. Instead, it takes us into the mind and art of this incredibly complex man, which makes the film work not only for diehard fans (who would see it anyway), but for the rest of us as well.
