Director Nicholas Hytner makes his Met debut with the new production of Verdi’s opera Don Carlo. This is an absolutely beautiful, enchanting and moving four-act French and Italian tragedy drama. This is a remake of the Opera from the 1500s. Usually, I find Operas quite boring because I don’t understand what they are singing about and usually the theme is about stuff I can’t relate to. However, I really liked this opera. The acting was great and singing was amazing as well. The costumes were definitely my favorite aspect of this opera, it was visually spectacular. They are unlike anything I have ever seen. They are so authentic to the times. I would definitely recommend this opera to anyone trying to be moved by singing. We all need more of culture in our lives and this opera definitely helped me to appreciate the beauty of Verdi’s music.
