Alright, confession time: I may be a girl but I am a diehard comic book geek and this movie is just A DREAM come true! If you've ever wondered what it would be like to see the most awesome Marvel superheroes all on screen kicking a$$ and having a blast together, then this is the movie of all movies! I stood in line for an hour to get my ticket and it's no wonder - this has to be the best movie to come out in AGES! And I'm so glad that for once a really great movie is also a really popular one.

The movie belongs, however, to Robert Downey who reprises his role as Iron Man and Tony Stark. No matter what his personal demons may be, the man knows how to act and turn on the charisma like nobody else. I also really like Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth in the movie, though I wish Scarlett Johannson had more to do. She's the only girl in the bunch and I feel like she was just tacked on last minute. I'm sure there will be a sequel so let's hope they add a few more girls in the next one - after all, girls kick a$$ too!

I have to admit that I really enjoyed this movie - a lot more than I thought I would, to be honest. I only went because my kids insisted on seeing it the day it came out (which also happened to be my son's birthday) so I had no choice but to go. I thought I'd be bored and probably check out half way through the movie, maybe saunter out into the lobby to make a phone call or check my email. No such luck!

And I'm glad of it, I have to say. This movie is the smartest action hero movie I've ever seen. It doesn't have any of those cheesy villains and dialogues from the Batman movies of the 1980s and 90s. Everything here is super sleek and made to feel like its rooted in reality - or at least that it could be. There's so much to take in with all the Avengers fighting side by side- and even occasionally against each other- that it made me feel like a kid again when I used to watch the animated series back in the late 70s.

My favorite has to be Robert Downey Jr. He's just so charming in every role he plays. Ditto Mark Ruffalo, who has a screen presence unlike anybody else in the film. This is one of those rare non-animated non-Disney and non-Pixar movies that me and my kids liked equally. Can't wait for the sequel!

This is an A super awesome entertainer that has thrills, action, and plenty of intelligence as well, something that not every Hollywood blockbuster summer action sequel is capable of producing. With an all-star cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel Jackson, it has tons of characters that all complement each other in ways that might surprise you given how many storylines and character dilemmas are going on at the same time.

To director Joss Whedon's credit, none of it feels overwrought or forced. In fact, it is AMAZINGLY entertaining in the way that all great Hollywood studio films should be.

It's already made a TON of money and will go down as one of movie history's all-time great successes. Definitely worth watching on the big screen!

2 1/2 starts. f you are bringing your kids to watch this movie, they'll have a great time. Adults will be mildly entertained. If you don't bring kids with you, I can't conceive why you'd see this movie. It's not horrible, but it's not very good, either. he only saving grace is when Robert Downy Jr. and his Ironman character show up. As for the plot, there is no plot.
I'm not a huge super hero person, but I have really like some super hero movies in the past (the recent Batman movies, Spiderman, and Thor). However, this movie is pretty boring, all things considered.

This was such an awesome film, I had a blast watching it and I think most of the people will feel the same. If you like comics and especially “Avengers” you will be so happy with this movie, it was one of the best films of this type that I have seen. This film has great action scenes, awesome characters that are played by great actors, and the film looks incredible. I think that most of the people (especially a bit nerdy people) will have a blast watching this film. Overall, I highly recommend seeing this film in the theaters, you will have an amazing time watching it.

I did not expect this film to be any good but I kind of liked it and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. I thought this film will be big, dumb and pointless, like “Transformers” but it was great and I had lots of fun watching it. The film had a great sense of humor and it was interesting as well. I Whedon created a world that is very unique and truly fascinating. I think i liked this film because it had a heart and meaning. Overall, I think it is definitely worth seeing in the theaters

The hype leading up to "The Avengers" has been so great that I believed there was no way the actual movie could live up to it. How wrong I was. "The Avengers" is awesome, and one of the best superhero movies I've ever seen. The main reason is its writer/director, Joss Whedon. The story has Loki, Thor's brother, coming to Earth to destroy us with an alien army. Nick Fury brings Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor and Captain America together (all of whom have had their own movies), along with Hawkeye and Black Widow, to stop this alien attack. Yes, the battles are awesome, but what makes this movie so good is how Whedon deals with these dysfunctional heroes. They're damaged goods, and he plays up their egos and neuroses. The dialog is vintage Whedon, meaning it's great. The actors have a lot of fun, playing against the other heroes, and it breathes new life into some of the characters who seemed a little stale recently (I'm talking to you, Tony Stark). The movie also has a great villain in Tom Hiddleston. "The Avengers" really starts this summer off on a great foot.
