I admit that I took my kids to see this because they like the first two movies though I thought they were just okay. They're definitely not up to the Pixar or DreamWorks standard (at least Kung Fu Panda in terms of DreamWorks, that is) but this is actually the best of the three movies, I think. The zany group of animals at the center of the story find themselves in Europe and have to find a way to survive and to get back home. They decide that they'll travel across the continent by pretending to be a traveling circus. There are a lot of fun and funny moments in the movie, though sometimes the humor is a bit too crude for my tastes.

The only thing I wish the makers of this movie took into account is that their movies need more heart. Otherwise they kind of play like an endless string of one-liners which, while funny, don't engage you in the story. I'm sure if they thought just a bit harder they'd come up with something better.

As for seeing in in 3D, its up to you. My kids really enjoyed the effect, but it made me dizzy with all the colors and patterns. 3D is definitely not for everyone.

Ha, I love these crazy animals characters. They're full of sass and wisdom and make you wish that animals really did talk and behave this way (or at least some humans, lol).

This third Madagascar movie is probably the best in the series because it takes the animals out of Africa and makes them fight for survival. They have to learn how to make their way through Europe on their own, which they do by pretending to be a traveling circus.

There are a lot of great celebrity voices in the film, including Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Andy Richter, Sacha Baron Cohen and Martin Short. All of them play their characters hilariously and get huge, big laughs. I think this was the first movie in the series to come out in 3D - I hope it's not the last, I love these guys!

I enjoyed this latest animated romp about Africa's craziest bunch of animals on the go, though I have to admit that the animation wasn't quite what I was hoping for. Maybe it's because Pixar has spoiled us with their lush and sumptuous films, but other studios' films just don't have that richness of detail or style that make the movie special. Madagascar 3 is fun, sure, but it's probably not a movie you're going to remember an hour after it's over. Can you say the same about "Up" or "Wall-E"? Or even "Kung Fu Panda"?

Because the animation was just serviceable, there isn't really much reason to see the movie in 3D. There are a few sequences in the film that are amazingly bright in color and design, but I would venture to guess that it looks about the same in regular format as it does in 3D. It's kind of flat - fun, but flat. Maybe they'll get it right in the next (inevitable) sequel?!

Well I liked this movie. The animation of it (especially on the circus scene) was awesome. I mean I kept thinking, how the hell could that be done like that? How can these animals fly through piano played rings? ANd then I reminded myself that it was a cartoon/movie and that made better sense.
I took my daughter to watch it in 3D, and well... 3D isn't for young kids. You cant make them wear those glasses!
OTher than that? It was a great movie.

I'm writing from a parent's standpoint. It was a decent movie. Not worth the $58 me, my wife, and two kids paid, but it's decent. However, the true test of how good this movie was, unfortunately, exposed, when my kids didn't talk about it once after leaving the theater. I was relatively entertained, and so were my kids.

I thought this film was funny, cute and very entertaining and I recommend seeing it in the theaters. My boyfriend and i were very bored and kind of depressed one night and decided to lift ourselves up with a silly movie and i am so glad we chose this one because it definitely helped us out with our bad mood. The film is very entertaining and cute and i loved the characters and the songs, basically I had a very good time watching it. We saw the film in 3D and I think it was worth the extra cash because it looked great and it enhanced the whole experience. Overall, this film is great for children and adults and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters.

I usually do not like overblown animations like this one but I have to say that this film was alright and I had a pretty good time watching it. I took my little brother to see this film with me and he insisted to see it in 3D which i usually hate because it gives me a headache but i am glad to say that it was worth seeing this film in 3D, it looked great. The film is very fast paced, energetic and quite funny, especially the penguins, i love those guys! The film is amazing visually and it is very well made and executed. Overall, I had a blast watching this film and I think it is definitely worth seeing in the theaters.
