This movie starts as a comedy and somehow ends up becoming a family melodrama. Therefore, I enjoyed the first half of the movie and was bored to death in the second half. The director should have stuck with the comedy theme and the movie would have been O.K. Ben Gazzara is excellent as usual and gives a really strong performance, but unfortunately solely his performance is not able to save this film from being boring and unoriginal. More questions are raised than answered and I was really confused about Josh’s (David Moscow) connection to Palladin. I love Ben Gazzara so much as an actor and I always enjoy watching him, but he should have not agreed to be in this film. David Moscow’s character Josh is so obnoxiuos and straight up annoying that it was hard to like him or watch him. Overall, I did enjoy watching Ben Gazzara and the landscape of Guatemala, but the movie was not good at all. I do not recommend seeing it.
