Lola Versus Movie Reviews

I did not like this film and I do not recommend seeing it in the theaters because it is not worth your time or money. I love Greta Gerwig and she did a great job in this film and definitely lifted it up but one actress can not save the whole movie, even such a great actress as Gerwig. She makes her character charming endearing and really likable and it was a joy to watch Gerwig act. I can not wait to see her in a better film, she definitely deserves one. I like the message of the film but it gets lost a lot and i wish the director stayed more focused. Overall, I think this film is better watched at the comfort of your house.
I am so tired of so called chick flick(whoever invented this term should be killed) and I do not understand why filmmakers think that women like these kind of films. This was not one of the worst chick flicks, it had some substance and an interesting subject. Gerwig is an interesting actress to watch and I hope to see her in more films because she is an excellent actress and she lofted this film up a lot. The film kind of reminded me of HBO show Girls and I found the show better than a film.
I liked this film and if you want to see a funny and sweet comedy this is the film for you. I like movies like this one where women are realistic and flawed and where everything is not picture perfect. I found the story to be quite interesting and I could definitely relate to it, I think all women have that one friend that is extremely selfish and self-absorbed and it drives us crazy. THis film is not very deep but it is also not shallow so it is perfect for a regular viewer because it is easy to understand and enjoy. Overall, I had a pretty god time watching this film and it is a perfect movie for girls night out.
I thought that the film was alright but I do not think it is worth seeing in the theaters because it is not worth the price of the ticket. I thought the film was too full of cliches and that really upset me because this film is posing as an indie film but it really is not. I could tell that the filmmakers wanted this film to be deep but they did not succeed and the film remains mainly on the surface. I do think that Greta Gerwik did a great job with her role and I think she lifted this film a lot but was not able to salvage it completely. Overall, i think the film is better watched at home.
