I think this is a very important doc**entary and I think everyone should make it their business to see it. The director Bill Haney makes no excuses for big coal companies who are destroying the environment and messing with the health of the people in West Virginia. It is amazing to see ordinary people fighting for their rights and saying “no more” to the companies that are destroying their lives. I love that the doc**entary had an infinate amount of scientist, environmentalist, and other experts to prove that coal mining in the Appalachia is destroying the landscape, the ecosysetm and causing health problems. There is a scene where a resident points out houses where the residents have died from brain tumors due to the toxins releases because of mining. This film tells the truth to anyone who wants to know it. In my opinion everyone should see it and be informed of what is going on and how ordinary people like you and me can change things if they organize.
I liked this doc**entary, but I did not think it was any special. It had too many big words and dramatic music and it was kind of predictable and reminded me of An Inconvenient Truth. The doc**entary deals with the environmental and health issues that coal mining causes. I liked that the doc**entary showed how regular, hardworking people in the middle America are trying to fight for their rights against a giant corporation. However, I felt that the doc**entary needed more heart and less big words and scary music. Overall, I did like this doc**entary, it is about pressing issues that will affect us all and it urges people to fight for their rights and gives hope.
